Mizstomp Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 How do you like your industrial? lots of techy? Lots of hard beats? Lots of synth? WHAT??!!!! See my favorite kind is the kind that Beats hard. Like- Worlock-Skinny puppy, and Dragonfire by The Retrosic. I like my shit stompy!
Scary Guy Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'll take a combination of the three. Not that I really know what you mean by those instruments except for the last. In industrial experemental noize projects the beat is also optional.
Guest Game of Chance Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm gonna go with hard beats a la Ministry (and the various Al Jorgenson side projects), Skinny Puppy and Pigface. Neubauten is good too.
JaneDead Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I'm gonna go with hard beats a la Ministry (and the various Al Jorgenson side projects), Skinny Puppy and Pigface. Neubauten is good too. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ditto. though i am not sure i ever heard neubauten?
Paper Hearts Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I dislike dance inspired electro-industrial because of how uninteresting the backbeats (usually) are. It's like listening to a clock tick. It's something that I'd noticed years ago in techno-you know what I'm talking about: that 4/4 synthesized bass drum punctuation. Believe it or not, that rhythm is not the only one that people can dance to. To me that's the mark of a bad electronic musicain and unfortunately, I've found it on some of the bigger albums of the genre.
Head Wreck Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 coming from a metal background i prefer it fast and stompy. and the classical side of me (pop-rock) likes the overpowering suround and crush sounds (think some of the soviet propoganda and anthem bits) few songs that come to mind that i adore: Wumpscut: Black Death, down where we belong Razed in Black: Solution, master, I'll Damage you Gary Numan: RIP, I cant Breathe some mayt not qualify in that brief bit but hey. i'm new to this

Love it.
Guest Game of Chance Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 ditto. though i am not sure i ever heard neubauten? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You probably have...you knew me throughout the mid 90's...
Dollardave Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I like music with the stomp heavy bass etc.
Pulse State Posted September 7, 2005 Posted September 7, 2005 I like it all! Though, lately, I've been tending more toward the "terror EBM"/"hellektro" side of things, listening to stuff like Suicide Commando, Tactical Sekt, Virtual Embrace, Heimataerde, Fractured, Combichrist, Soman, &c.
Mizstomp Posted September 7, 2005 Author Posted September 7, 2005 hahaha so I've noticed, it shows in your playlists.
Mikielikesit Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 Back fuckin' breakin' hard ass stomping ................Oh I am an old rivet head from way back...........long live HEAVY METAL..........
Soulrev Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I like music with a fuckin boot-up-your ass stomping pounding beat, add lots of synth and a good deep monotone voice that seems to have that "commanding" sound to it.. Like Laibach's Tanz mit Laibach, or pretty much anything by Combichrist.. Also like anything that sounds similar to Velvet Acid Christ.
Mizstomp Posted September 8, 2005 Author Posted September 8, 2005 Tanz mit Laibach is one of my favorite stomp songs. I loveeeeee Laibach. They are sooo hot. I wanna fuck to it.
phee Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 I have one and only one requirement for the music that I like, industrial included: It must be good, and have taken effort, the rest depends on my mood... GREAT TOPIC!!!
Head Wreck Posted September 8, 2005 Posted September 8, 2005 me and a guy i was training were talking about this today were gonna have to compile a list of deadly sins such as synth sample done to death (303 i think he mentioned, he knows a lot about this shit. shame he's not a web head)

(Praga Khan)
Pulse State Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 For 2005, the one thing I have noticed is that a lot of bands -- and I do mean a LOT -- are using the default presets on the ReFX Vanguard softsynth. I've been guilty of it too , but seriously, I've heard Vanguard presets used on almost every "hellektro" album that's come out this year.
FarrIL Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I like my Industrial rough and abrasive...... just like Suicide Commando and Velvet Acid Christ =D
Pulse State Posted September 25, 2005 Posted September 25, 2005 I like my Industrial rough and abrasive...... just like Suicide Commando and Velvet Acid Christ =D <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Can't forget Heimataerde, Psyclon Nine, Virtual Embrace, and Combichrist! All good stuff from 2005...
