Ginevra Posted December 30, 2004 Posted December 30, 2004 (Not sure if this fits better here or in Sexuality. Please move as needed/appropriate.) I was surfing around the net today and I saw a link to an article about Susan Sontag. I had heard briefly that she'd passed, so I thought I'd go and read up. (New knowledge never hurts, right? >< ) The page that I came to was this. Now, granted, I have seen nude males before, I have viewed erotica of several different flavours. Male and female genitals are nothing new to me. However, to be greeted with that when visiting a supposed encyclopedia type web site and having to sort through that to get to what I wanted to see in the first place is a little much to me. It's situations like this where I'm glad that I don't have children. Don't get me wrong; I do believe in self expression and freedom of speech. I do believe, though, that unless the parents wish it, that children shouldn't be unduly exposed to potentially sexually related things inadvertantly.
LuthienTheFallen Posted December 31, 2004 Posted December 31, 2004 i didnt even see any pics when checking this out what are u taliking about?
Fierce Critter Posted January 1, 2005 Posted January 1, 2005 Nothing untoward came up for me either, Ginevra. Perhaps you might have suffered a popup of somekind?
Ginevra Posted January 2, 2005 Author Posted January 2, 2005 Nope, it was embedded right in the page. Perhaps it was just a random thing, I guess.
Dubh Aingeal Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 I had gone to it as well shortly after it was posted and the page was covered in genitalia and info about how wikipedia is supported by adult searches, etc... I think someone probably had hacked the site....
Jarodaka Posted January 3, 2005 Posted January 3, 2005 Perhaps hacked or perhaps the concept of group editing worked out really well.
