EvilEve Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 when you were a kid, or even now? yes, it's one of my nosy questions, but it's a good one. with it being so close to Hallow's Eve, why not share and tell me your fear. c'mon, you know you want to. :devil it'll be fun!!
Scary Guy Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 The dark, Drowning (still am), Being alone in the basement with the freaky painting cut out of an indian, Being alone in general without the radio or TV on to keep me company. Death (now) Fears are irrational, but sometimes they keep us safe too. Kinda funny how now I spend most of my time in the dark, alone.
Brenda Starrr Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I was afraid of the dark. I was also afraid of/fascinated by natural disasters. I still am to some extent. The Exorcist scared me to death, and I still refuse to watch it. All I saw was the first half hour or so, and I knew that I shouldn't be seeing it at all. I was, and still am afraid of spiders. Terrified.
holliwood66 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I was afraid of the dark until about 17-18 or so....yeah. I used to have night-terrors as a kid and before diagnosis I used to wake my parents up all_the_time. My Mom got so frustrated with me running in and waking her up that she told me that if you tell someone about your nightmares they come true. So...as you can imagine I became intensely afraid of the dark or that bad things were going to happen as I had told people about my nightmares. I asked my Parentals about this years later and they told me they were kidding at the time. :tear Now I am just afraid of death...or being really poor.
Homicidalheathen Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 My sister lied and told me there was a monster in the basement....I believed her until I was about 5 or 6. We had a hole in the wall for coal and we were not allowed to cliimb into it.....I had no idea why....just thought I would get eaten. Ha.
phee Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Why is everyone afraid of me? Gee I wonder.... I was afraid of being alone....
Msterbeau Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Why is everyone afraid of me? Probably because your head is always glowing or on fire..... :blink OH.... you meant the dark.... Not "The Dark" :woot: :whistling
FarrIL Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Ever since I was a kid, I always had a fear of the dark. (( haha )) Now, that's changed in a sense. I dont necessarily fear the dark, just what could lie within it. A stranger? An animal? Something worse? Anywho, I was also afraid of shadows as a kid. I admit that, to this day, sometimes I'll be walking outside and night and some lights will be behind me. I may see something move and after I jump in fright, I take a second glance and realize it's my shadow. So sometimes even my shadow scares me. I dont like spiders. I'm apparently afraid of making a wrong turn on the highway and end up being half in the air, half hanging from the road, in my Jeep. I dont like the idea of being so far off the ground without a safety harness. I'm also afraid of monsters and what they can do. No, I dont think there are monsters under my bed, the space is barely big enough to fit ME, much less than a Demon, shall we say. But I believe that monsters, entities or spirits are around and I'm afraid of what physical harm they could do to people. So I'm a bit superstitious or paranoid but..... ya know. ~_^
Scary Guy Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Oh yeah and heights, almost forgot that one. Slowly getting over it though.
Kit Kat P Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 being locked in the closet or like spaces deamons sociopaths
saechalyn Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 I am DEATHLY afraid of snakes. Have been for as long as I can remember. It's terrible, if I see even a stupid harmless garden snake I have nightmares about it for weeks. Small confined spaces freak me out. Heights make me nervous, but I can handle them. Crowds where I can't move around freely make me anxious. If I can move around easily enough, like at a club, I'm fine. But a jam-packed elevator is no fun.
Guest Game of Chance Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Bees. They freak me out. Even though I know that they are relatively harmless.
bean Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I was terrified of the basment when I was a kid, and I used to get locked down there in the dark when I was "bad," so I still have a very irrational fear of basements. I used to be afraid of spiders, and I'm still afraid of bees, but that is because I am allergic to them.
EvilEve Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 i'll wait for a few more people to post their fears, then i'll tell mine. as long as you understand why you're afraid of the things that scare you, then you could probably start to over come those fears. if not, oh well, we still love ya!
Lilith Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I was afraid of the dark until about 17-18 or so....yeah. I asked my Parentals about this years later and they told me they were kidding at the time. :tear Now I am just afraid of death...or being really poor. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You would be surprised how happy you can be when you are really poor, dont get me wrong it sucks but you learn to apperciate the simple things that actually make your core existance happy. Unless you are speaking of those who are far worse off then I am but i think i am and have been as close to poor as you can get with out actually livingg out my car or on the street. Other wise my fears are well rela tivly unkown to me. when iw as a kid i was afraid there was a ghost or something lurking in the dark, that is not so much the case any more. I am afraid of the world my children are living in and i am afraid of the crap they will have to deal with when they are adults. I am terrified of loosing one of them in any way, not the OMG my kid ran to the next isle kinda loose i mean the actual some one takes em away form my care for any reason. I guess i dislike spiders but have no real fear of them, i detest mice and the like who do not live inside of a cage or that are bread for feeding. When i had my 3rd child i was terrified of the pain, which seemed odd ot me as i had 2 befor completley natural no druggs or anything, I was just plain out afraid for about the last 4-3 months i even cried like a baby about it. When i actually went in to labor they induced me and i then realized why i had been afraid those months, i ended up getting an epidurol (sp?). I just cant think of anything else that i am afraid of.
Homicidalheathen Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Why is everyone afraid of me? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It could be your flaming head.....that could be it. :devil
Homicidalheathen Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 OH and my parents house is sorta in the woods and next too a huge woods.......I don't know why but I always thought a wolf would get me........there are no wolves here. ha.
EvilEve Posted September 21, 2005 Author Posted September 21, 2005 ok, here's ONE of my fears when i was very little. (story time, yay!!) i was 2yrs. old, and my parents took me to Frankenmuth (sp?). they had a parade going on with all sorts of stuff. the one thing i remember from it was a float with hand puppets sticking out of it, singing something very cheerful. i was scared sh*tless! i screamed and cried at the top of my lungs!! since then, i've always had this fear of puppets, or something resembling them. any inatimate(sp?) object that didn't have life, but resembeled a human form i was afraid of. i never had dolls as a kid, i always kept them away from me. i prefered animals, even the stuffed ones. i guess that's why i don't really trust people all that much. well, one of the reasons anyway. i've been traumatized by people so much at that age that i wanted nothing to do with them unless i knew who they were. i still don't like some people. but how crazy is that? to be afraid of hand puppets! i didn't watch scary movies as a kid (at that age), so i don't see that playing into the factor. one fear down... several to go...
The_Dark Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 Height and deep water Bridges freak me shit right out.
Dollardave Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I used to be afraid of girls and the fear of being shot down. Funny me shy LOL what a joke now.
Aralis Posted September 21, 2005 Posted September 21, 2005 I was afraid of being alone in the house at night. I always use to jump into my bed in fear that something would reach out and grab my legs from underneath. I am scared of heights, spiders and snakes. I am scared of ghosts..evil spirits and aliens. My house I grew up in was haunted. None of my friends would ever want to stay the night. They said my house was scary. We had many antiques and there was woods behind us. I remember seeing UFOS when I was younger and my Mom and Dad talking about them. My Mom claims one tried to abduct her when she was a teenager....and no she isnt crazy. I heard about stories of spirits in our old house and I remember experiencing weird unexplainable things. Almost everyone in my family that has died has shown that they are still around in some way or another. I get weird vibes or feelings when i go into certain places. My Grandmother has spoken in tongues before when praying and is kinda like a witch I guess you could say.
EvilEve Posted September 22, 2005 Author Posted September 22, 2005 fear 2 : when i was a kid, i use to be afraid that there was a portal under my bed that would suck me in, and i would never get out. but my biggest fear then, and still now, is very personal. yes, i'm afraid of losing one of my family members (mom, sisters, dog) but not for reasons that you would think. there's more to the story. LOTS more. i still don't like puppets btw... i'm afraid of people (really bad anxiety)... other than my biggest fear, i'm not afraid of anything else. i'd tell my fear, but again, too personal. maybe when i relax a little more, i'll let out my big secret.
