A Goblet of Wine

Life is my  drink of  choice  all of
my  grapes  ripening  on  the vine I
squeeze its juices down my fingertip
and relish the  intensity of blood
 pounding through  my veins ferment
the vitality  into my glass as it
floweth over  with  this vim and
   vigor  and crashes down around
     me with the whisperd sounds
      of spirit swell my bosom
       I find  liberty, drain
         the last drop and
           set my glass
              upon the
               table
                and
                walk
                away
                from
               my care
               without
              any worry
             so that for
            a time I hope
          that I can forget
        the gaunt ghost of me.

It's easier than it looks, actually, but it does often lead to some really bizzare word choices...

I wrote this poem as part of an article that I'm writing on carmina figurata, or poems that are designed typographically to also look like an image.

I've been seriously thinking about attempting to do a portrait out of poetry. But I may have to use a graphics editing program, different fonts, and different colors in order to acheive the proper effect. Pointilism or pointillist mosaics taken to a bizzare extreme, I suppose.

I'll show it to everyone when I'm done.

I suppose it'll depend on how bored I get while I'm in Arizona.
