Halloween Evil?

People might be interested to know that there are absolutely no confirmed cases of anyone putting anything intentionally harmful in trick-or-treat candy. Ever.

I've a good friend (a professor) who's based his professional life on studying holidays. He spent 8 months trying to track down one supported case of someone putting razor blades, dirty needles, whathaveyou into candy. Nada. Like other urban legends, it's was always "I heard that..." and "My mom has a friend whose roommate once..." It's a particularly believable urban legend that confirms suspicions people have, and so it's spread far-and-wide.

That may or may not help with your problem, but I thought I'd offer it.

LOL FOr the moment i have created a HAppy HAlloween card, with a side not o f thanks for al lshe has been doing for us laltey, inserted the kids school pics and plan to hand it to her tommorow when i see her. Other wise with this one i am ignoring her casue she just is not going to ruin Halloween In my House.

Halloween is way to lame these days....there's not enough old skool witch burnings, people getting randomly crucified, grave robbings, necromancy, satanic cults sacrificing born again virgins, christians getting fed to lions or tigers and whatever happened to my personal favorite....putting muslim or a priest in an iron maiden? Whats this world coming too when I can't even walk down the street and see a guy in a hockey mask chasing some stupid screaming bitch down the street with a chainsaw. Like I said halloween has become some retarded "disney" cartoon where the good people always win the day. I think I'll sit in a dark room and plan out the Inquisition II and wish that hollywood made a friday the 13th part 666.

I just read a bit of this thread, and referencing what I know of your mother in law from other bullshit she has said, here is my take/advice on it.

1. Your mother in law is an idiot. She takes her orders from some other religious nut and does not think for her self.

2. remember the email about flying cars and other bullshit....

3. you will never be rid of her unless she is a chain smoker and you make her some chocolate pudding with about 6 months worth of birth control pills crushed up into a fine powder and stirred in. (oops did I say that)

4. Have you ever brough up alien abduction and anal probes? (I bet she will have lots of stories about all the times she has been probed by "aliens"

5. An easy way to avoid this is to: Never let your kids around her again. if your husband protests, withhold sex. That usually works...

6. Start turning her in for child abuse (mental abuse) for telling your kids they are going to hell etc... it wont take long until you find a social worker who is as crazy as your step mom, and then she will be either in court or simply denied visitation... (problem solved)

Well yesterday she finally told me she is not doing Halloween, I find it wrong that the kids here this far befor i do. I just looked at her said okay, I plan to go shopping for the kids G.P. gifts Friday afternoon and i told her what i plan to get each off them..... then she decided that she would prefer home meade costumes....WTF i was already kinda doing that casue of the cash flow.....( the kid who unknowingly decided on things i could make any how all i had to do was buy 1 $5 hat and one $10 mask)....... She also infomred me she never believed in halloween and she is done with it, it is just anothe holiday for parents to spend $. She also told me she does not want me wasting my $ on $20 halloween costumes etc.... I told her the kids decided what they want to be and iwill either bu ythem or make them depending on the costume, but if i have to buy it I WILL. The conversation was rather pleasant actually, i refriamed from telling her how f-in stupid she is and letthe shit she did day that annoyed me leave my head.....I made sure it was known i will not follow her rules alone, I will do what i feel i need to.

I am slowly taking back my rein, i am trying very hard to be nice about it.

Also lestat wuold not complain to much about limiting the kids visists, he feels similar to what i do, althought he ignore her better and such, we just both dont want to rush in and do anything extreamly drastic, You allways give you child a warning or explinantion if you do this XX will happen....... So we are kinda trying that out with HEr and i wil lsay the kida hve seen her since we talked about the loations and ahse has held true to handing me thing befor they are given to the kids. So Hopefully maybe she has woken up or for once heard one of our valid points.

my grandfather on my dads side died before I was born, my grandmother on that side died when i was young.

On my moms side, my grandma and grandpa were just a tad crazy (like your mother in law), so I only saw them a few times after the age of 10... it made life a lot easier.

Here is how to do it.

1. stop calling them

2. stop returning their calls.

3. take vacations somewhere else without telling them where you are going.

4. schedule the kids free time when the evil grandma is in church.

5. schedule the kids to be doing enrichment (learning etc.) when the grandma is free... (they cant have their learning disrupted just for her psychotic need to harm their psyche right....)

6. Make life unpleasent for them and her when they spend time together.... (well they can visit, but Im picking them up at 2am...)

7. send her all sorts of old fart gambling tour brochures.... (getting her addicted to the slot machines like other old crazy people is a good way to reduce contact with her)
