any holiday involving bigger than life characters (ie santa, easter bunny) or include me getting/recieving presents (christmas, birthdays) an excuse to get dressed up (halloween, new years) or to drink (st patrick's day, new years) and when i get to see something cool (costumes, fireworks) and an excuse to eat sweets or various other goodies (thanksgiving pies, birthday cakes)

so in general i like holidays. i dont get 'the holiday meanings' most of the time, like in my house christmas is more about the fat guy in a red suit than the skinny dude in the sandles. but i have fun with my version of each one.

holidays i skip are like labor day, memorial day, presidents day, valentines day, sweetest day, such-n-such birthday (official people skip, friends included) and so on...

christmas, halloween, birthdays even though i don't think of those as "holidays" are at the top of my list.

and i pretty much dislike new year's eve, easter and thanksgiving.
