If medication is no match for your migraines, there's a new solution. Surgeons have confirmed that a type of nasal surgery may provide relief.

The surfaces of nasal-cavity walls can press together in some people, and when they do, the pressure can stimulate a trigger point for headaches, explains Fereidoon Behin, MD, of Christ Hospital in Jersey City, NJ. His team operated on 21 migraine sufferers whose scans revealed nasal points that touched.

After the surfaces were permanently separated, the patients reported that their headache frequency fell from 18 days a month to 8 and the intensity dropped 53%. The researchers hope to make the surgery widely available in the next few years.

I had a deviated septum and had that type of surgery for migranes and for sinus issues. My sinus issues are virtually non existant anymore, but the headaches are if anything alittle worse. I think they're more a stress thing than a nose thing though so probably not related.
