I know you all arent big wrestling fans, but I grew up on it and I love it. When I woke up Sunday I thought it was gonna be a normal day recovering from City. Then my aunt called to tell me that Eddie Guerrero had passed away.

I've been watching Eddie since ECW I've watched him go from a scrawny high-flyer to WWE champion. And now I'll never watch him again. He was a great talent that I will sorely miss.

I am an in the closet fan of wrestling. My dad took me to WrestleMania 3 at the Silverdome when I was very young and have watched it on and off ever since. I have been to nearly all the events and pay-per-views when they come to town, both WWF and WCW. It is really alot of fun when you get a big group of your friends together and go see it live. We are going to the Survivor Series at Joe Louis on the 27th as well.

The Eddie thing was sad, and he did put on a great show, but his death didn't effect me much as I have really not seen much wrestling in some time. I will say that when Hulk Hogan finally passes away I will need to take a vacation to restore my life back into order.....lol.

Yeah this was indeed a sad thing to wake up to on sunday. The prelim Autopsy says it was heart failure, thankfully not a drug overdose or foul play.

Such a shame to see someone go before their time. He was a damned good wrestler. He leaves behind a wife and three daughters. I saw this mentioned on Monday Night RAW. There were many teary eyed wrestlers on there that night.

Eddie was a hell of a wrestler. He had charisma to boot at that, I loved his Latino Heat routine. Definetly one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I too remember seeing him in the ECW as that little scrawny latino man. He will be missed.

Well this is pure irresponsible conjecture on my part but I bet he died of steroids like many wrestlers have - in the cases where they die so young (i.e Big Boss Man, Crash Holly, etc)

Eddie Guerrero was pretty cool but Rey Mysterio is by far the best, I was a huge fan of the cruiser weights in WCW (juventud, eddie geurrero, billy kidman, rey mysterio, etc).

Eddie had a past problem with drugs and alcohol. He cleaned up his act and truly found religion. I seriously doubt he was using steriods at this time. He is a quote from his wife Vickie...

"“It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.

Not to be rude for correcting you but Eddie just celebrated his 4th year of sobriety. His past use of drugs and alcohol caused problems with his heart that finally caught up with him. After the big senate probe of steriod use and Hulk Hogan being one of the wrstling superstars to appear and testify, steriod use in pro wrestling has dropped to near zero if not zero. Let's not assume that because of what has been going on in pro baseball overflow into wrestling.

Not sure if this was posted yet as I didn't really read everyones posts and if it was posted then my apoligies, but the autopsy results are in and it was found that Eddie Guerrero did infact die due to heart failure.

It does seam like so many of my childhood favorites are now droping like flies. Owen Hart, Davey "British Bulldog" Boy Smith, Flyin' Brian Pillman, Mr. Perfect, Ravishing Rick Rude, Bossman, Miss Elizabeth, and now Eddie. Breat Hart recently had a heart attack/stroke (no pun intended) in recent times. There were always those rumors about the Ultimate Warrior passing away, but those were always unfounded. So many wrestlers of my youth are dying so fast at a rate close to 10 times higher than football players of the same age. thats is really interesting when you think about it.

i'm a big martial art guy and i went to wrestling school learned alot got a few matches under my belt and eddie was a role model for people around the business and outside of it as well. eddie dying is a shock to us all i'm sure. very tragic i'm stunned. really speachles. thats a hard hit. he was a great heal. he did it all. i learned so much from him as did other guys. (just from watching i never met him). he meant so much to his profession.

i was sad about rick rude and kurt hennig(mr.perfect) i was actually going to meat with both of them a couple moths before rick passed.

on a lighter note it's good to see theres still fans out there. don't disrespect our fallen hero's. say that shit to his face, oh but he can't be here to defend any accusations. i really didn't think people would care but alot of us do wow common ground besides social drinking

Yeah, I heard a few Warrior rumors as well. That the orginal passed away and his twin brother took over the "Uktimate role". Later I found that all this was not true and the Warrior is still around, but has not wrestled in some time. WWE just released a new DVD about him a month ago about his rise to the top and then his fall and why it all happened. I guess he was a pretty dangerous dude to be in the ring with, but I have not seen this DVD yet. I have only seen commericals of it on TV.

One of the sites rips at the new WWE DVD about him, supposedly it's full of lies. I had the chance once and met the Road Warriors before Hawk passed away. Because I recognized them and remembered the good ol' days of them wrestling along with having a like new shirt of theirs cuz I never wore it(didn't want to ruin it), they gave me their autograph. I don't care what anyone says about whether pro wrestling is a sport or not, these guys and girls are in great shape and have to be to do what they do. I admire and respect them and I admire and respect them even more when they admit to demons and overcome them.

Nope it was Hawk. Animal is still around and wrestles Friday nights on Smackdown with his new tag partner.
