Don't worry, these aren't done anymore. While they often relieved the severe anxiety/psychosis the patient was experiencing, that's often because it totally screwed up their frontal brain, which is essentially where your personality and executive functions are. Many people became docile and zombie-like. Which is good if you're the manager of a psychiatric ward housing violent schizophrenics and just want them to sit around being calm, but bad if you're.....well......on the receiving end.

I saw a special on this and they said it still happens although rare.

And that they can pinpoint certain areas and only target that spot and that it helps.

I still say people are just weak. You need to be tough and just get your shit together. Not take meds.....get part of your brain shocked or cut out.....you know?
