Goth clubs or semi like it in Grand Rapids???

second whats the goth scene like and so forth , is there one ? what are some cool places to hang out and so forth ?

I live 45 minutes away.

There is a club night on Tuesday (the thread was on the old board) and I've been meaning to check it out but haven't made it out yet.

If nobody posts the location, etc. I'll go dig it up from the old board tonight.

My dwelling is here.. I wouldn't call it "living"...

Plain and simple. There are several goth type people here, but there is NOTHING for us to do so I think most just drive the 2 hours to City Club when they can. There are alot of bars and clubs, mostly catering to the R&B, Hip Hop, or danceclub type crowd. We have a cool pub in Eastown where most of the "alternative, punk, or otherwise" people hang out called Mulligans. They have a jukebox with good music, cheap drinks, and a cozy, Irish publike atmosphere.

But don't kid yourself. I've lived here 7 years and never found anythign to do. I drive to Detroit every weekend like a lunatic in search of some sort of social stimulation. I have 2 friends in the city...

The goth night at Club North on Tuesday is already dead. It lasted like a month I think and was cool only for about 2 weeks. I guess they moved it to the Rap club called Drink but that too never really took off. Billy's has what I hear is a decent 80's night though I've never gone due to my avoidance of a certain someone who always goes...

We had moved to jackson last year for about three months and i think when we finally decided ot move back toward the city we freakin RAN. I hated it, but we did have a good reason and i think i am thankful for finding out how "dumb" some part of MI are. I do wish u the best of luck when i finaly head back to school culinary arts will be my choosen profession. Let me know how it goes nerd and keep in touch i enjoyed chatting with u the other day.

oh sheesh all Im only going to be there for 6 months im not going to live out there forever and ever, I am a city dweller

my plan is to go see what detroit has to over and if not head out to chicago and or las vegas ( sin city baby ! )

if the idea is for "the venues" detroit cant compete with places like Vegas or Chi town in a sheer-number-of-sites-to-visit sort of way.

Im here for "the people" more than anything (along with a decent selection of venues) , if i wasnt , i'd have moved ages ago.
