Ginevra Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I know it doesn't help a lot now, but perhaps, in the future, before posting something, it'd be wise to highlight and copy the text in case MySpace (or any other site) goes down or has glitches. That way, you've at least saved your text and you can paste it into a text document which you can retrieve at your convenience. I know I do this when I've thought a lot about how to word a post or if a post I make is really long.
cusssedness Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 That's what I do, Ginevra. It also allows me to spend more time on what I intend to post and refine it before putting it up for the world to see.
Lilith Posted December 10, 2005 Author Posted December 10, 2005 I usually do that, i just wrote today, it was to be a simple blog but turned in to a huge rant etc...... ughh just annoying as it happened at the wrong time........ I needed to scream but being it was only 7 am i came to dgn to blow off the steam....... and "scream".......... it helped........ ty
n0Mad Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I prefer Live Journal over My Space and Xanga.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 Going to check out this Live Journal. Yah, myspace froze for me the other day too.........and I lost an email........it just sorta went POOF......WTF?
Rayne Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I use Livejournal for blogging. Rayne's Livejournal I got a couple pics from Phee's show uploaded today.

Wounds Within Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 it'd be wise to highlight and copy the text in case MySpace (or any other site) goes down or has glitches. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do this all the time simply becasue Myspace has giving me the finger one time to many in the past.
Ginevra Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 On the old DGN, if you used the spell checker once you finished writing, it would eat your posts. Perhaps I was the only one it happened to, perhaps not, but it was quite frustrating to lost a small novella just because the spell checker had bad Cheerios that day.
Aralis Posted December 10, 2005 Posted December 10, 2005 I rarely use the blog on Myspace on my page. Myspace seems to have alot of issues off and on. I use Livejournal for blogging as well.

Lilith Posted December 11, 2005 Author Posted December 11, 2005 I have been on LJ to view IRL friends bloggs but never joined. I dont know why but it seesm to bother me that just about everyone i know has a LJ, and well when i go to unload i am not sure iw ant every one having access to it ya know. Even with the friends only or Prefered list type settings it make me uneasy. To many people who just would never understand half the stuff i write even if i tried to explain it to them...... I dont know like i said i needed to scream so DGn heard my voice. Maybe it was good thing it went down casue the person causeing the turmoil inside me has gotten the full Live version cause i did not have my tool to help me be nice...... and well the not nice thing seemed to get some results so far. Lessen learned Type everything work and even non work related in Word First! I am usually good about doing work in word and saving but never gave my personal thoughts the same respect. Bad me bad ! lol
Scary Guy Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 I find writing things down in wordpad and then copy/pasting helps a lot. I also find most times I don't take my own advice and fuck up hitting the back key. However I also find hitting forward fixes that usually and what I typed is still there.
cusssedness Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I have both an LJ and a xanga. I generally use them differently. I tend to put the bitchy stuff on xanga and the better thought out posts on LJ.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I guess I just dont care that much about posting my personal stuff on the internet to sign up for live journal or my journal or whatever. I think this is it for me. To many websites to contend with.
kellygrrrrrl Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 DAMIT The same thing JUST happened to me.....I swear I wrote a book about my weekend, and now it is gone....dammit, next time remember Cut & Paste, Cut & Paste DAMMIT!!!! :doh
EvilDivaEva Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 yep, copy and paste is the key for an unrelated myspace story you can click on my thread http://www.detroitgothic.net/index.php?showtopic=7254&hl=
DJ Nocker Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 myspace is dumb.......dont become one of its mindless users.....please
Homicidalheathen Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 I met a great guy off myspace. I mean, he is normal and nice! He talks to me everyday about just life stuff. And he is cute and sweet! His wife and him are swinger curious but I don't even care about that. I just like him as a person! I don't care if we ever hook up with them. I would not have met him if it weren't for myspace as he doesn't go online much. So some of them are cool. And it was worth all the wanna hook up emails to find one true freind who lives by me.
JaneDead Posted December 13, 2005 Posted December 13, 2005 myspace is dumb.......dont become one of its mindless users.....please <{POST_SNAPBACK}> ah but it doesn't have to be that way i like it because it keeps me connected with all my real life friends. they post party events, i can read their "blogs" about stuff that is going on in their day to day lives ... i know it is better to talk to people in person/on the phone for sure- but sometimes it is easier to just reach your friends ALL at once, with one easy way. i also have a bunch of bands on there - so of course i don't know many of them but i think myspace is a great way for people/musicians/others to get exposure/network. maybe they should pay me for advertising.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 16, 2005 Posted December 16, 2005 Site will be down for maintenance from 3:00AM PST to around 5:00AM PST. January 15, 2002. WTF? Does the calendar run backwards? They cannot mean they will be off for that long even to 2006. My new buddy is on there and he doesn't go online much. Wah!
