Fierce Critter Posted December 11, 2005 Posted December 11, 2005 Was at the Dots store in Southgate the other day and was pleasantly surprised at some of the fashions they have available right now, that fit into a goth wardrobe. The plus-sized side of the store had just a couple black, gauzy or velvet blouses, and some velvet skirts. But the regular-sized side of the store had a few more pieces, such as a really nice stretch velvet skirt with a pointy hem, etc. One thing I like about Dots is they frequently have the same item on both sides of the store, so if you walk through the regular sizes saying, "I wish they carried that in MY size", you might be pleasantly surprised once you get to the back of the store.
gothicmom Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 The holidays are a great time to fine goth type clothes. I guess for dressing up for parties. But it seems the stores are full of black or red lace and velvets!
Lilith Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I LOVE DOTS! HAve been shopping there for years, mostly for cheap shorts n tanks to wear to the bar when i work... but i have over the years found many cute things there, my fav sweater came from dots has little fringy "fingers" on the collar and cuffs they ahd it in several colors one being black ...... So much you can find with in the mainstream that fits our unique tastes. When ever any one asks me where i shop i say everywhere, i find the best stuff in the most "normal" stores.
JaneDead Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 not that i know anything about fashion but i keep hearing how "velvet is in" i never knew it was "out"? so i think that is why there is more velvet out there right now too, besides the time of year. and i have noticed a lot of the types of skirts i used to wear back in the early 90's out again. i guess the 90's are "in" again. i guess it's great i have some of those clothes still. too bad they don't fit anymore.
Homicidalheathen Posted December 12, 2005 Posted December 12, 2005 I too, noticed the 'dominatrix' look is in.....not just at dots. I saw stuff at Sears! A good year to be a goth.

FarrIL Posted January 10, 2006 Posted January 10, 2006 Debs is where I got my "Angel With Issues" top....... and that was the shirt I was wearing when I first jumped into the cage. I think my black duster came from Sears, and I love how it looks when I wear it. No designs, just ribbed cloth made into a lengthened sweater. Love it love it love it. =3
