Well whatever - Im going with it here and I'll see what happens.

So i worked at Taco Bell for over 2 years as Asst Mgr and did twice the work that was required of my position, but never got any recognition or bonus or pay for it. After having a complete breakdown from the stress and lack of support from my store Mgr or district mgr I quit in July.

It was October before I found work, I started at Tubby's. for 2 weeks I was a shift manager then became Asst Mgr just around Halloween. Here it is the second week of January, only 3 months since starting, and today I was PROMOTED to store manager. The store owners said they were originally going to wait 6 months, but since I said I need to look for a second job because I need to make slighty more money, they decided to promote me now so that I can continue to focus on and work in this store.

So I dont make millions or anything, still less than I did as an Asst at Taco Hell, but since this job doesnt make me want to kill myself, I think it's a fair trade.

Just excited and wanted to share! Thanks for listening!

That's awesome!

Your job affects so much so it's definitely good to be doing something less stressful. I didn't realize how stressed out I was until I quit my fomer job and got the one I have now.

Yay for you!

I was the same way. my friends all told me i was totally stressed out and just 'different' when i was working at TB and i insisted i was fine, then i quit and i realised how great i felt without it.

congratulations!

To be honest it looks like Taco Bell is an extremely stressful place to work. I notice the employees scrambling around back there like doctors in the ER. Plus they have way more menu items than other fast food places it must be difficult to keep it all straight. I have often wondered why they do that for $7 an hour or whatever the regular staff makes.

My daughter works at what she calls 'taco hell'. NO chance of moving up...she is only working there until she finds something better.

Congrats M'lady!

Yay!

Yeah....sometimes it is suck a gamble....

Money...sanity......money......sanity...

I'll go with sanity.

Plus, for all those people out there that work 8,000 hours a week.....

How do enjoy the $$ if you have no time to enjoy it?

(I used to be a Tubby's professional.....but I worked for the biggest penny pincher in the whole world....so I was having the same issue.....Sanity? Money?)

EXACTLY!!! when i worked at taco hell i made really good money but worked 10-12 hours a day 5,6,7 days a week. Having a day off was usually a rare thing and then when i did have a day off, it was never a weekend... i couldnt enjoy the money i was making, so what was the point???

congratulations!

Tacohell IS an extreemly stressful place to work because they have insane standards and expect every single person working there to act like they have stakes in the company. the amount of extra work and responsibility they require from people who make $6-$7/hour IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. they want you to perform at 100% from the minute you walk in til 20 minutes after you walk out and expect that each person working there cares INTENSLY about every single taco they pass over the counter. What tacohell doesnt understand is that all these people want to do is go in, do their job, go home. its crazy.
