Homicidalheathen Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 New season comming up! I cannot wait! I just heard there are two contestants from Detroit this year! Oh I hope they make the Mo town look good. And more good male singers....but I liked the preview and that blonde girl. What a voice!
n0Mad Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 I'll probably end up seeing some of it as my mom and sisters are big fans.
Fierce Critter Posted January 13, 2006 Posted January 13, 2006 It's a guilty pleasure when I absolutely WANT to watch TV and nothing else is on. I watched steadily last year after it looked like Bo was going to do well. It was nice seeing a change from the mini-Mariahs and Pseudo-Celines. Gads, I hate that kind of singing.
Steven Posted January 14, 2006 Posted January 14, 2006 i watch it. in fact i wish theyd raise the age limit standards, it would let more people wo never go ttheir break, vie for a chance for a break. its all pop music anyway...soon forgotten. I'm a big enough Ho myself that i'd totally record a one hit wonder son just to pay off my mortgage. Everyone could laugh at me, then they can go home and write their mortgage check while I'm buying beer for my barbecue......

Except for the little fact that I can't sing. At all.
Fierce Critter Posted January 17, 2006 Posted January 17, 2006 I have people all the time telling me I should go on the show, that I'd for sure make it at least to the top 10. Then I remind them that I'm about 11 years "too old" to even audition. I don't get it either. Cyndi Lauper was something like 32 when she came out with "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun". Not that she's the greatest example of vocal talent (she's much better live than she is recorded), but just look at how much $$ she made for her label, at least on her first 2 albums. And she's still going strong today. if in a different niche. It pisses me off. But what can you do?
Homicidalheathen Posted January 17, 2006 Author Posted January 17, 2006 I think they should have a older version of American Idol but Fierce, I think your young enough for this one.

Homicidalheathen Posted January 18, 2006 Author Posted January 18, 2006 OH that was so much fun, I had fun tearing those people up last night. Did anyone see that tall guy in the wierd green Suit and hat? Ugliest suit I ever saw. Oh and the guy who came in wearing a statue of liberty costume. Guess he thought sucking Simons cock would be enough.....heh. And that orange tan E LA skanky blonde and her crack head mom.... I hope the twins win though they were sooooo good. I thought that young cute guy getting in on Paula's whim was cute, I bet that is the one she takes home this season for a little 'tap, tap!'
Fierce Critter Posted January 18, 2006 Posted January 18, 2006 You know, I started watching a bit more when it appeared they weren't totally giving in to the "you have to look like Britney and act like Madonna" mentality of the rest of the music business. Seeing the genuine talent of bigger people, less "beautiful" people, etc. Ruben Studdard winning? Never would have seen that in earlier seasons (of course, look where he went... nowhere... thanks, record label...). But Simon's comment after that fat chick walked out of the room last night, "do we have a bigger stage this year?" really, really disgusted me. She did SO good, and then he had to cap it - in a most cowardly way, I might add, without her in the room - with such a rude, telling comment. What a slimy piece of human filth that guy is.
