Should I dye my hair?

I have officially had black hair for 10 years. I'm getting a bit bored. My job prevents me from doing anything crazy so I can't have the bright blue hair I would so desire. I'm thinking about going for red again but *argh* it's such a bitch to maintain. I know none of you actually care about my hair but humor me, mmmkay?

Mine's reverse of that. Mine's red with chunky black highlights. ... it's a bitch to maintain. I'm debating what to do with my hair ... I'm ready for a change and have a bleach kit, blonde hairdye, colours (pink, purple and turquoise) and a friend who does my hair for me ... I just have to decide what to do with it ...

I like the idea of black with red though.

I change from black to red and red to black every few months, hehe, and was thinking about going back to red myself!

You can strip the black out by putting bleach on it for about 15 minutes. Then put your red on. You'll have to touch up the red every three weeks or so until it grabs.

Bleach your roots, then dye em' vamp red, or purple

Will minimize the damage to the ends, and once complete will look sweet!

One app of bleach should do the trick without even touching the black...as it is a bitch to get black out.

Or if the roots are too short, grow em out a little.....this way, you can go two toned until the black grows out..

It is high maintanence though

Thanks for the responses. I'm still undecided. But I'm using a regular shampoo right now and the black is fading; I guess I'll decide if I want to make a change when it gets lighter.
