Brenda Starrr Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 My skin is so dry, I could make a whole new person with the skin that flakes off. What do you think is the best lotion available, price being no object? What I'm using is good, but I think I need better than that.
The_Dark Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 Goldbond Medicated.... that shits rocks my socks.
Nerdcore Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 anything pepperment in it works really well , i have this spa feet lotion stuff but i use it all over also get a humidifyer caress body lotion too
Lilith Posted January 20, 2005 Posted January 20, 2005 if you take baths often allwas use some type of mostirizing additive in the water and or baby oil mom used that often but her skin was dry all the time not just in winter i also heard that putting on a pair of gloves after you have loaded on the lotion works really well. Drink lots of water and aloe is really affective as well maybe ya just need a combo of products try using one lotion in the morning and a diffrent one at night. brian uses Hempz Herbal Moisturizer by Supre i got it atthe tanning salon cost me about $20 for a 18fl oz pump bottle he works in and out side and this seems to reall take care of the wind, and sun damage to his face and hands. Also reduces the dryness i get from a fake n bake. I might also look in to products devloped for those who are in the elemnts more i.e snowboarders, regular tanners, as kthe doc about a script product i know some older people get creams from the doc when they start to crack extreamly bad just my thoughts on the subject
DisturbedMania Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Nerdcore, you're on the money with the peppermint. It has soothing and healing properties, which is why it is in alot of Aveda's moisturizers, but you can always add peppermint oil to your lotions. I can dig out a recipe for lip balm I made a few years back and accidentally added too much peppermint oil to, but it worked fantastic on the lips.
Nienna Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 I have alot of friends with very dry skin who swear by the Olay Moisture Rinse stuff. They make it in a very dry skin formula. You basically rub it all over after washing in the shower and rinse it off just befoe you get out. It can be followed up with Olay Quench lotion which is a nice compliment.
gothicmom Posted January 21, 2005 Posted January 21, 2005 Eucerine is great! It's what the hospital gave me for my baby. I like it. I also like the stuff from Bed Bath and Beyond. http://www1.mooremedical.com/moore/store/c...ID=2034&print=1

Soulrev Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 you have no idea what dry skin season is till you come to Laramie Wyoming. The air at 7,650 feet above sea level is so fuckin thin and dry you'd be shocked. I wake up EVERY morning with a stuffed up nose and my mouth feels like the Sahara, my tongue feels like a piece of cardboard cuz I've been breathing through my nose all night.. After I take a shower my back itches like hell from being so dry, my tattoos on my arms look faded from the dead dry skin, I constantly have to put Lubriderm on my tattoos so they don't look so faded and my back so it stops itching from dryness. Ughh..
Onyx Posted March 20, 2005 Posted March 20, 2005 I recently bought some Palmers Shea Butter and that stuff is wonderful! It's a solid form, not a cream, so it is very thick and rich. It takes a while for it to be absorbed so you have to allow some time to apply it, but put it on once and it lasts all day.
