I think voting for 'a mix of all these genres' is a cop out. You can choose it if you want, but it doesn't help guage what people on dgn are most into.

I voted industrial, but I could have gone with EBM too.

Led Zepplin

oooops, wrong thread....

I've never been to C&C but when I do get that way, I would like to hear Goth, Dark Wave, Dark Metal.

yeah I sort of lump darkwave and deathrock and other subgenres in with regular goth. Which I guess is lazy on my part since I don't really consider ebm to be synthpop, I think there is a clear difference between say Joy Electric and Icon of Coil. Others tell me they think it all sounds alike.

Sorry for copping out, but ideally I do like a good mix more than anything else. I guess a more accurate answer for me would be a mixture of the first 4. I’ll break it down a little more for ya.

Futurepop/EBM is the easiest for me to dance to, but if I heard it all the time I’d be bored. I feel similar about synthpop. I love hearing old actual Goth classics, it brings back memories and puts a smile on my face, but I wouldn’t want to hear it all the time either. Every now and then I like to get my stomp on but usually I’d rather hear Industrial while, say, driving in the car. It’s great stuff but not my favorite to dance to. So a mix is best for me.

I like a mix... but I voted for industrial.... It is my favorite out of all of the genres listed

Great poll BTW!

i voted for the "mix". back when i first started going to cc that is what it WAS anyways, a mix of music. i liked it then, it was one of the things i liked about the place.

I had to vote "mix" ... I like all the ones listed.

that is the other reason i voted "mix" because i like it all so i couldn't pick just one type to want to hear.

I remember when they would play the occasional Primus song, those were the days

The problem with Goth music is it has so many sub labels. It's all the same to me, goth it is. =)

To answer the question I voted EBM. I would have voted Industrial & EBM (no other bs) if I could have..

Nu Goth.... LOL I hate that shit. Especially MCR.

I went with the first choice. But a better answer would be a mix of #1 and #2. I see a lot of overlap between #1 and #2.

I do like to hear some "classic" goth thrown in, Cure, Siouxsie, Bauhaus, etc.

A mix of all three would be heaven to me.

i voted goth...

lets face it people, its very rare that they play anything else but rave glow stick shit...(its not on the list)

the only reason i even go up to the shitty club anymore is to see friends.

i use to stay in the corner between the speaker and the d.j. booth but now i even find myself going there and never makeing it to the dance floor...

Mix ftw!

Really, I like some things from each of those genres, so it's not really a cop-out but a compromise. Just because I don't necessarily like the current song that's playing doesn't mean I won't like the next one. And just because I don't especially appreciate a particular song or the majority of genre, doesn't mean it's junk.

Yes, I used to quite often when I lived in Utica and Ferndale. But now because of my job and location, I never do get to go.

I remember in one night you could hear:

Skinny Puppy

Primus

Covenant

Sepultura

Frontline Assembly

Tool

Evils Toy

Ministry

Fugazi

*sigh* those were the days

Well I'm closed minded, I only want to hear T.O.Y., Apop, Covenant, VNV, Icon of Coil, A23 and stuff like that.
