I fininsh reading the series a few months ago, and I have no one to talk to about it. Has anyone read it or is reading it now?

I've read it.

It's really...incredibly sad, in its harsh way.

Absolutely incredible series of books! It's my favourite from that author.

Its funny how I came across this series. I was stuck at home one horrible hot afternoon and so bored. I had opened the drawer where Bob kept all of his N64 games ... on an never ending search for perfect Dark. To my surprize there was a book at the bottom, I found it strange Bob never read much. It was the gunslinger. I finished that night, and ran out to find a book store that had the drawing of three. I was hooked. I'd have to say my two favs where The gunsliger and the Wizard in the Glass. I like how King ties his books togther ... so I really liked when they visited "the Stand" demension in the W&G =)

Yeah. It was. I actually got to the point that I put the book down and not read it for like a month cuz it upset me so much. My mom and brother gave me a lot of shit for it cuz it took me so long to finish. But I was really upset. . . .

He really is an awesome writer. I just loved how he roped everything he wrote into this series though. It was just so cool, to me.

I was skeptical at first cuz my mom and brother were practically forcing me to read them. So, of course, I got an attitude and didnt start reading them til they were on the 6th book. Shame on me. Now I've finished the books, and my bro is away at college and my mom's and my schedule clash so much that we cant talk about it.

I got so hooked to this series that I went out and bought the concordance for them. I look the different dialects that he wrote with. Sometimes when I chat I'll use some of the sayings like, say true or mayhap or thankee, sai.

omg yes... I read the final book right when it came out (was that early last year?), but was slowly reading through all of them for 1-2 years prior to that. To this day I still catch myself saying "thankee, sai". Excellent books, and I'd have to say that they have a different feel from all the rest of Stephen King's works. Not to say that all of Stephen King's other works are bad, but the Dark Tower Series is quite chock full of action and drama as opposed to his other books in which the first 80% is all build-up to the last 20%. Such a sad ending, but I really couldn't see it ending any other way...

Me either. I actually kinda liked how it ended. I know that alot of ppl were pissed about it though. But, I kinda thought the ending suited it.
