Daevion Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I have been meaning to buy some rollerblades in the spring and give it a try but now you are scaring me. Is it really that hard? I don't want to break an anckle or something on my first time out. I can be a little clumsey at times. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> great, now I have to get my emt cert after all.....
Aralis Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 I love rollerblading. It took me awhile to get use to it..stopping and being able to jump over things but once I got going I loved it. I use to roller skate all the time when I was younger. I would go every week with friends. We use to dance skate too. That was fun. Ice skating...well I can do it but I can't do much of it. I apparently have weak ankles so I would go around about twice and then I would have to stop. My ankles would start trying to turn over. I do have a stretched ligament in my right ankle though so I am sure that did not help matters. Skateboarding...I use to be a skater chick. I would go out and skate with my brother and all his buddies. I thought skater guys were hot. LOL. Skiing...I suck at it. I can not stop. Its scary.
AstralCrux Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 You must be kidding.... I've tried skating, blading, ice skating, and skateboarding. Skiing is way easier and you're wearing so much fluff that when you fall it's just amusing. I miss it, really, but I've been too broke to go in the last couple years.
Homicidalheathen Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 My husband took it up and it's just.....funny. It is the only time I see him not being 'cool'. This one time he spun around 4 times then fell on his ass. I had to laugh.
kellygrrrrrl Posted April 14, 2006 Posted April 14, 2006 Goths on Skates. That's a movie idea if ever i heard one. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :laughing :laughing :laughing :laughing falling is a great way to lose your composure :laughing I can imagine it a scene where goth #1 falls here comes goth #2...licks the wound.... :whistling
TheLordShaper Posted April 17, 2006 Author Posted April 17, 2006 Wow! three hours out today skating and no real incident. I even think im learning to turn quickly and low and behold.... stop. I'm getting goad at this shit, well sorta kinda if no ones looking and I have the rink to myslef kinda good, but hey I'm not quitting and I have the blisters to prove it! Yeah me TLS.
Marblez Posted April 19, 2006 Posted April 19, 2006 I just took my son out skating at the Metropark nearby. It will definitely not be the last. Lots of fun and a bit-o-exercise too!
TheLordShaper Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 I'm picking this shit up pretty fast. Still struggling with the fancy quick turns and stops but damn im exponetially better then when I started and I've only had the skates for 2 weeks. TLS
TheLordShaper Posted April 23, 2006 Author Posted April 23, 2006 Yeah and its working out well you...you ... doubter of my skillzs you... oh and if you ever wanted to know, it doesnt work well if I wear my goth gear with them. Something about my helmet and bondage pants that doesnt go. I cant for the life of me see how skate boarders wear such baggy pants when they skate, my bondages pants keep pulling me down. TLS
Brenda Starrr Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 if you ever wanted to know, it doesnt work well if I wear my goth gear with them. Something about my helmet and bondage pants that doesnt go.TLS <{POST_SNAPBACK}> hahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!! *snort*
Brenda Starrr Posted April 23, 2006 Posted April 23, 2006 You snorted hahahahahaha! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I do it all the time!
TheLordShaper Posted April 24, 2006 Author Posted April 24, 2006 Going out again to try my luck at skating. I'll report back my finding of the effects of being buzzed and trying to skate, it should be fun. TLS
Brenda Starrr Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Good luck, and use a tree if you can't get your brakes to work.
Marblez Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 Um....I could be wrong but I don't think that's such a good idea.
honeymustard02 Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 It worked for me! <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Lol but how was your face afterwards?
Brenda Starrr Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I have this uncanny ability to keep my face away from tree bark.
kellygrrrrrl Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Did some rounds last night on the blades. It was nice. Went to National, then to Main, then to Paul & Julia's, then home and man are my legs sore..... (Approx 4 Miles round trip) =) I really should do that more often
Homicidalheathen Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 I have a freind who is a stunt skater, even with the guard he almost broke his wrist the other day. I might slow down a bit. I go so fast sometimes when I fall I just go flying.
TheLordShaper Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 HAHA. Im back from my business trip out east and I had a blast. Went out skating again and had no difficulites at all. Hell I can even stop pretty well now. My girl is still struggling a bit but man, where light years ahead of where we were. Time to try again. TLS
TheLordShaper Posted May 9, 2006 Author Posted May 9, 2006 I spent the week in New Haven Conn at Yale. I was in town for business and got to drive the long Island sound. Didnt have time to get down to NY or over to Boston though as I was in meetings the whole damn week but man, what beatiful area. I'm suppose to be going to Philly next wekk but that fell through due to me spending all my travel budget this quarter. corporate travel is so much fun... all expense paid to go do a little business and drink a bunch. Fun TLS
Brenda Starrr Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 You were too far North. Next time, come to Baltimore.
