Der Nister Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Well at the least our governor is trying to help. (I think :erm) Here is a link to her online petition to lower gas prices. PETITION I'm wondering, is that beautiful 50 cents a gallon gas tax that Engler imposed on us before he dragged his lard ass out of office still in place? I miss him, he loathed us so much.
Reaper Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 I went ahead and signed it with hopes it will be at least something to try. Hope I don't get spam for it now :erm
The_Dark Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 As the President has called for a full investigation into the possibillty of the Big oil companys gauging at the pumps... and Ordering an explination to the people that makes sense... What is the point of this?
Reaper Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Yeah I could never understand the politics behind giving a CEO a severance package of 400 million. But its just that, politics. It enrages me to have to pay out so much just so they can fill their wallet more. They keep giving piss poor reasons like having to build more refineries and such but that is bull because there are hardly any being built. Hell, why don't they go with another illegal move and hire illegal immigrants to do all the work at the cheap labor?
Scary Guy Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 As the President has called for a full investigation into the possibillty of the Big oil companys gauging at the pumps... and Ordering an explination to the people that makes sense... What is the point of this? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> votes, pure and simple
The_Dark Posted April 25, 2006 Posted April 25, 2006 Too little, to late on Granholm's part. I despise that woman.
Hellion Posted April 26, 2006 Posted April 26, 2006 :devil Just to put every company in the world out of business. The CEO's of exxon suck major ass.Me myself are not very happy with our Govenor.
Kit Kat P Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Gas prices here at $3.20. It's really starting to hurt, especially since we don't have a lot of public transportation
Scary Guy Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Ouch, we're not even that bad yet. I'd be happy for $2.50 per gallon again. I remember when people bitched about it nearing $2.00.
torn asunder Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Ouch, we're not even that bad yet. I'd be happy for $2.50 per gallon again. I remember when people bitched about it nearing $2.00. i saw regular gas at $2.92 yesterday in k'zoo... :doh yeah, we're there now! :erm =(
phee Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 The president investigating big oil is kind of like Al Capone investigating organized crime.... And I agree... Granholm is a Biatcho supreemo
Der Nister Posted April 27, 2006 Author Posted April 27, 2006 The president investigating big oil is kind of like Al Capone investigating organized crime.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ain't that the truth. Did anyone see his press conference when he made that statement? he almost looked as if he wanted to burst out laughing. Investigate - Shhhaaaaaa as if.
phee Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Ain't that the truth. Did anyone see his press conference when he made that statement? he almost looked as if he wanted to burst out laughing. Investigate - Shhhaaaaaa as if. Indeed, it's like: "I am going to look into all the lies I have told personally, to make sure that they are true...."
The_Dark Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Did you know that the Michigan State Employee Pension fund is backed by Exxon stock? 47% of the funds for our state employee's pensions are invested in Exxon. If this goes through.. that makes all the pensions worth a lot less. Go Granholm... way to look out for your people...
The_Dark Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 BTW... we pay 19.875 cents in tax on Gasoline and 15.875 cents on Diesel the .875 cents is Fedearl Tax. Plus we pay another 6% sales tax... and there is the Federal Excise Tax of 18.3cents for gas and 24.3 for diesel... that doesn;t add up to 50cents state tax... Why do you think there is a 50cent state tax on gasoline?
Daevion Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 hell yeah I signed it! It'll probably be ineffective but it does no harm
Scary Guy Posted April 29, 2006 Posted April 29, 2006 i saw regular gas at $2.92 yesterday in k'zoo... :doh yeah, we're there now! :erm =( <{POST_SNAPBACK}> $3.20 |= $2.92 Like I said, not there yet. When it gets that bad I predict more gas theft and drive offs.
