i had that last year. god i hated it

i know my mother as a teen underwent desensatisation (grass pollen injections) that took the edge but they dont do that any more due to the amount of people who croak or undergo anafaletic(sp?)

I am allergic to Michigan. I never, ever had allergies before I moved here. Claritin takes care of them pretty well though.

Since Zyrtec managed to become immune to my body's rampaging histamines, my doctor put me on Singulair.

Singulair has helped eliminate the nasal symptoms, ending a 2-month long major allergy attack that had me going through a box of Puffs Plus tissues every week. But since it works on leukotrienes instead of histamines, cat-related problems such as itchy eyes and itchy, swollen skin reactions to cat scratches were still making me miserable.

With the doctor's blessing, I added Loratadine - generic Claritin - to the mix. Claritin is an antihistamine. Now I'm back to the nearly allergy-free state Zyrtec once gave me.

I don't have the paper in front of me. But the copyrights are running out on a big handful of allergy medications this year. So you'll see generic or over-the-counter forms of some things available, making it more affordable to treat allergies without a major insurance plan. I don't remember all of them, but I know Allegra-D and Flonase are amongst them. Allegra is already over-the-counter in Canada, as is Zyrtec. Allegra didn't work that well for me, but it's worth a try.

I was on those injections for the majority of my life, and I never built up any resistence. Seldane was my miracle drug, but then they took it off the market with Seldane-D interacted badly with epinephrine. Allegra came next, which didn't do me a much good with indoor allergies. Then Zyrtec saved my well-being for about 4 years without fail. I tried Claritin & Flonase when Zyrtec slipped up on me, but Claritin didn't help much and Flonase gave me asthmatic symptoms.

I really need to look up this leukotrienes stuff. I don't understand exactly what they are and how they relate to allergic symptoms.

I have them to, and because I'm all emotional they are so much worse, I want to poke out my left eye...for somereason my left side has much more pounding and alot more need for tissues than my right. I have headsaches on my left front only and it's making me off balance =(

Allergie attacks are my middle name. Everyone asks, "what are you allergic to?" ... I swear, it's not unusual for me to sneeze 20-30 times in a row and omg that hurts!!! My reply ... "Everything."

once every so often i have one. whole arm goes dead almost with the pain

I seem to be breaking out in hives lately.....this is new.

It's horrible, they itch and sting.

I didn't even know I had allergies. My only symptom was mucus the color of Mountain Dew; which is probably TMI, but I find it too amusing not to share.

I jokingly asked one of the doctors at work if that was something to worry about. He gave me some samples of Singulair. All better.

you most likely have a subluxation in your spine - get thee to a doctor of chiropractic, post-haste!! (i've had this problem in the past, and my chiro got rid of it in a few visits!)

I'd still be alive.

But I'd be damned miserable. And definitely denied my feline companions.

I hate to be such an advocate for medication like I am. I'm just so happy with my quality of life since being on modern allergy medications, I like to share the love.

well you learn something new each day.

it only comes with inactivity and late i've become reluctant to go for a run due to a pulled muscle in upper left leg, and broken toes on the right. shoulder i'm going through phisio for right now and that privatly done and costing me a bit.
