at the moment in my RP group i'm playing a victorian hunter (think the guy from jumanji) with wierd technology such as a coal powered spacecraft and odd antique brass plasma pistols thats got old "vacuum valves" in bulb cages sticking out the side.

one of the crew is playing a gung ho american spaceman i'm currently annoying by nicknamming him buzz lightyear (he does play that sort of charecter)

What's interesting is a few months ago I saw a book on the history of D&D and how it started out as "Chainmail", talked about TSR, detailed the WotC aquisition, and had a section on all the various worlds and products and such. It definitely discussed Forgotten Realms but had no mention of Faerun's other lands: Zakhara (from Al-Qadim), Maztika, and Kara Tur. I would've bought the book otherwise but they won't even acknowledge that Al-Qadim (my favorite setting) even existed. And that's not just a WotC thing; TSR disavowed all knowledge of AQ long ago.

This coming from the dork with the meople icon .. though caracssonne isnt a RPG per say ... its just a dorky uber game.

Maybe the D&D 3.5 world that my DM created.

I think maybe I'd have to go with Deadlands, though.

I mean, it's like playing a role-play version of The Dark Tower series.
