Surgery has been scheduled

One week from today, May 18th, I will finally be having my surgery.

Today I recieved a phone call from the lady that does all the scheduling, saying that I'm ready to roll. She ask's me "How does next Thursday sound?" DAMN.

So I've got a week to prepare for this journey. I have to go shopping and buy what I will be "eating" for the next 1-2 months. Which won't be that much and most of it will be liquids like pudding, jello, broth.. that kinda shit.

I have to physically prepair by going on an all clear liquid diet 3 days prior to surgery. No solids, just clear juices and water.. woohoo!

I also spoke with my sergeon today and he talked to me about the things that will be going on when I wake up. He said that there is a pretty good chance that I'll still be intubated, which is making me extremely nervous. I can't stand the thought have a breathing tube shoved down my throat while I'm awake. So, I'm not dealing with that very well at the moment.

I'll be at Harper Hospital on the second floor if anyone wants to shower me with get well gifts. :laughing :grin

Thanx everyone.

I'm somewhat excited.. only 3 more days. I've been stressing big time over this and had to ask my doctor for some anxiety medication to help me out. Seems to be working ok but I'm still freaking out.

Wednesday, someone from the hosptial will call me and let me know what time I need to be there.. I'm really hoping its early. I just want to get this over with already.

Oh yeah.. I had my last mean this evening. Lots of meat. Something I won't be able to have for at least 3 months.

From tonight on, it's all full liquid diet. Just thinking about that makes me hungry. :laughing :grin
