Enough is enough

Ok, so for the past few weeks, the 7 key and end key have been screwing up majorly on my cell. The '7' wouldn't work unless you pressed it real hard and the end key stopped working at all. Not fun when I'm on a delivery and trying to call ahead to ask the customer how many blocks from X street they are, as it's almost gotten me into several accidents 'cuz I now have to look down at my phone to dial.

I went in to Cingular today, and one of their representatives is getting me a camera phone for $30 when I add a data package onto my plan, including an in-store rebate. Fine by me, I was already thinking about putting one on, as the internet was getting expensive.

So I'll now have a camera phone with a non-dysfunctional keypad, be able to use my phone internet all I want, be able to send text messages and picture messages all for 30 bucks. Plus, with the data package, I'll be spending less per month because the internet won't be pay-per-use. Can you say sweetage? :woot:

It's pretty cool... I just wish that all the contacts updated properly. I had my numbers transferred. I now have multiple entries for people that I had numbers for. E.G., If I had your cell and home number on my old phone, it would come up as 1 entry with both numbers under it. Now, I have your name in my contacts list twice, once for your home number and again for your cell number. :doh

BTW - I got an LG C2000.

So Headwreck, you're in Europe where they supposedly get phones 6 months to a year before we do here in the U.S. and you're still using a SE T610?

The LG C2000 is a pretty cool phone.

I have the Sony Ericsson W600, the Motorola Razr V3 and the Nokia 6061. I like to get a new cell phone every 3 or 5 months.

the sony ericsson can do everything, you can watch tv on it (mobitv.com for more info) and store mp3's, listen to FM radio, takes pics and video, plays 3d games, has 256 mb of memory in it. Oh and apparently you can make calls with it too but that's not what I buy phones for :nut

I need to get a new phone (and carrier) myself, Sprint has been pissing me off for months now... I'm not sure if it's even possible to have worse customer service than Sprint...

heh

two years ago i was still using a motorolla 520e for any manual work. SEj70 if elsewhere.

i tend to use a phone untill it is completely without hope.

TV over phone is under trails here but at 10p per minute if it works out like WAP did its not going to be popular.

i dont use my phone much, i use prepay, about £10 per month via direct debit, i'm lucky if i go £5 a month in calls. and i will phone rather than text. only LG phones i have seen tbh seem to be made out of cheap plastic and have an awfull feel to them like a toy phone would. i feel like i would destroy it (remember i used the mottie 520 becuse i had driven over my phone several occasions)

and i hate spongey keys, mottie razor or sliver keypads just seem fradgile to me. and nokias... thier designed to die every 6 months so people buy the next model

That explains a lot. The phone I got rid of was a Nokia 6010

tell me about it. my team swear by motorolla XTN radios, and i used to swear by thier phones now they're just a big dissapointment, esp with the very finicky bluetooth that only likes other motorolla bluetooth products
