Been wanting to see this since it came out, but only recently managed to check out the VHS from my library.

I enjoyed it. I thought it was a good blend of the vampire/werewolf themes. The story could be a touch hard to follow at times - lots of twists that leave you often second-guessing who the bad guys really are. But in the end, it all makes sense.

Good costumes. Decent effects.

They still make VHS? Heh, but underworld was hella-cool as far as vamp movies go. Unfortuantly, the same actress played in this other blight called van helsing.

I thought it was so "world of darkness" inspired they should have called it White Wolf presents underworld.

And it sure beat the crap out of Vanhelsing

I watched this twice on HBO this weekend... despite having the DVD... I liked it and look forward to the sequel. Yay!

I'm taking advantage of free rentals through my library, so a few films I'll have to settle for VHS rather than DVD.

Is there a good reason to go ahead and rent the DVD of this? How are the extras? I was kinda low-key in my usual "not very critical critique", but I really did enjoy this film a lot, and wouldn't mind watching it again.

I haven't taken a look at the extras myself. Note that there is a widescreen special edition and an unrated director's cut version. The latter has a second disc with more extras.

I've been told by some of the art-snob intelligencia that im not allowed to like this one.

Its been in my netflix que for ages , just keeps getting pushed down the list by other selections. Will have to break down and get it one of these days, after reading the above, positive reviews.

I thought it was an awsome movie. Had a very good storyline. It is kinda hard to follow somethings but it adds to it I think. As Vater stated it is alot like White Wolf. I just hope the sequel hold up to the first. Alot of sequels are the killer to a good story.

Art-snobs are stoopid. They just want to watch movies of gay cowboys eating pudding.

Underworld is nice to look at -- translation: Kate Beckinsale is hot -- the acting is sufficient, and there is enough story to keep the action sequences logically connected. Of course, the characters are a bit overly-dramatic, but, hey, it's vampires and werewolves, what do you expect? It would almost be disappointing if it wasn't like that.

Hmm, I'm going to have to watch this again tonight!
