I am extending this invitation to those DGNers interested in joining us in celebrating our cousin and little sister's birthday (and anyone else who may have a birthday in August). We are planning a day at C.J. Barrymore's sometime in mid-August, but I need to know if anyone is interested so I will know how many to book for. Please note, the party package is at no cost to those who RSVP with me. Just come and enjoy yourselves. The more the merrier. Also, if you are also celebrating a birthday in August, please let us know and we will have your name added to the birthday cake. My second party plan is if we have enough people interested, I will call The Red Apple to see if they will let me rent the lower level for a party. I would hope Karaoke would be acceptable. If anyone is interested in any of these ideas, please let me know so I can make arrangements ASAP.

I think I'm finally getting over the shock of seeing our friend and neighbor's home burn down. The smell of smoke still inundates the neighborhood and inside our house. It's unsettling knowing how close... never mind that train of thought. I haven't seen them yet so I'm still struggling with some sense of closure. At least my sister has spoken to her, so I do know they are physically unharmed. I just need to see her, even if I can't do anything more than give a hug for moral support.

I never realized how much of a difference 50 pounds actually made. I no longer struggle to get up (or sit up for that matter). My arms actually fall down to my sides instead of jutting out. It's no longer a battle to get out of bed. If I'm having trouble getting up its because I am genuinely tired and not feeling too heavy. I don't feel like I'm battling against gravity just to stand or walk or breathe. I am literally flabbergasted. I NEVER want to be THAT heavy EVER again.

They were really pretty and came in a cute smiley face mug. Made me smile just to see them. It was very sweet.
