I think a lot depends on the kids. Like can they be trusted not to leave the yard and do they know about not taking candy from strangers. Stuff like that. Oh and how well do you know your neighbors. When I was a kid 6 and 5 was old enough to run the neighborhood. Which I did. But it is not like that anymore.

I'm so gonna be in trouble for this but batteries cost money also.

I've not been able to work since my mid-20's (42 now).. life took it's toll on me. So I have learned life is too short to worry more than you have to. Love as hard as you can for as long as you can because tomorrow isn't promised and today is only today. If you get a tomorrow, it can be it's own problem.

FYI, Pride can kill a man. There is nothing wrong with receiving aid when needed. We all, as human beings, want to feel useful, but there comes a time when we all will need help in one form or another. You have A LOT of people out here who care about your well being...so most nothing you do will be just you. Also, THANK YOU... Love the Anime Collage...Totally Cool!!! At first when I saw this I thought oh that's very nice.... but food isn't a real issue it's just everything else... then I noticed I'm starting to just have canned soup left in the cupboard.
