DarkVampire Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Back in the Chain Gang, I remember that now. Good song and voice.
Fierce Critter Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Forgot to mention... Barbra Streisand Carly Simon Julie Andrews Marnie Nixon (the singing voice double for many an MGM star)
DarkVampire Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Berlin (Terri Nunn) she has a good voice. Take My Breath Away was an excellent song. Another one from the 80's Nena and her famous song "99 Luftballons".
Homicidalheathen Posted June 16, 2006 Author Posted June 16, 2006 Still, allot are known more for singing. People don't know it but Dolly writes quite well. She wrote one of Whitneys most famous hits. And not enough women LEAD guitar players who solo. And none as good as Satriani....but I am hopeful I will see it in my day.
Guest Megalicious Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 Leigh Nash from Sixpence, and no I don't like chirstian rock at all!! =( But a psychobilly friend Larry Loved them, and talked me into going to one of their shows at the House of blues in Anaheim and the moment I heard her start to sing Puedo Escribir I got goosebumbs. She has an amazing voice, and I'm not talking about that damn 'kiss me " song .. :doh Check out their album "This beautiful Mess" or "fatherless and the widow" ... they are amazing.
Head Wreck Posted June 18, 2006 Posted June 18, 2006 never heared any lo-ball tbh, but thier lead singer has been a frequent object of eye candy
BillyDeath Posted June 19, 2006 Posted June 19, 2006 I am not talking, produced and played out pop singers. People who actually write, and/or play an instument....sind yah, but sing and write. Not just dance.I saw Vixen last night and Jan is an awesome guitar player.... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Joan Jett Reba Mcintyre Dolly Parton Patsy Cline Janis Joplin Grace Slick Billie Holiday Tori Amos Patti Smith Diamonda Galas Lydia Launch Siousxie Soux The Lead singer of: Lacona Coil Otep Arch Enemy Kittie Warlock Girl School L7 Sonic Youth Concrete Blond The Judds ETC.........
Homicidalheathen Posted June 19, 2006 Author Posted June 19, 2006 I love Shirley Manson.....Her lyrics are the best. Female singers with great lyrics can get me to listen to bands I'd otherwise not. Shirley Manson from Garbage, an awesome person besides Maria from Battery, she put a lot of feeling into their non-experimental songs Jussi Gamache from Freezepop Jessicka Fodera, formerly from Jack off Jill and now singing for Scarling. The other three girls that started Jack off Jill Le Tigre, all of them, lol Tairrie B from My Ruin, sultry voice and great lyrics Shikhee from Android Lust, possibly the first woman to both sing in and compose industrial music, certainly the most well-known (Erica Dunham from Unter Null is the only other one I recall offhand) Amanda Palmer from The Dresden Dolls. Awesome songwriter. <{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Homicidalheathen Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 Yes, I thought....John Lennon just did waaay to many drugs to think his wife had any actual talent. Did she brain wash him or what??? We were sitting on the couch the other night watching some thing with clips from the 60's and Yoko was in it. She started uh.....singing? It was more like a sheep in pain.....it was HORRIBLE.
