Homicidalheathen Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 I am not talking, produced and played out pop singers. People who actually write, and/or play an instument....sind yah, but sing and write. Not just dance. I saw Vixen last night and Jan is an awesome guitar player....

odims_sphere Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 The only singing women should be doing is while they're makin' my dinner! *runs and hides*
Steven Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Joan Osbourne for raw power and sexuality in a vocal delivery (right hand man) Courtney Love for her anger, it has a honesty to it that I respect. Nancy Wilson for her guitar chops and taste. Nikka Costa for her soul roots and because she's so damn hot that she jsut kills me. Stevie Nicks for being one in a million and for that VOICE. Joan Baez and Carol King for starting it off.
n0Mad Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 Tori Amos, just because. Great piano, good voice, interesting lyrics, cool arrangements ... (And the red hair doesn't hurt either.)
TheAbsynthFairy Posted June 9, 2006 Posted June 9, 2006 The only singing women should be doing is while they're makin' my dinner!*runs and hides* <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was totally sexist...and I would be angry if I wasn't laughing so hard. Nothing like a good women in servitude joke to lighten my mood.

odims_sphere Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 That was totally sexist...and I would be angry if I wasn't laughing so hard. Nothing like a good women in servitude joke to lighten my mood. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thanks for not taking me serious. In answer to the thread though, I would have to agree with Tori Amos, she's amazing, and she plays Kurzweil pianos and synths.
n0Mad Posted June 10, 2006 Posted June 10, 2006 And there's a special place in my heart for Loreena McKennitt, even though my favorites of hers are the poems she sets to music. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I own all her CDs. "The Highwayman" is awesome! "Bonny Swans" is one of my faves as well. For some reason she always puts me in the mood to play the rpg Earthdawn.
