slingerlandstyx Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Despite a lack of attendance, the weekend went spectacularly well. AstralCrux and I got there @ 2:00 PM on Friday to setup camp. After that, it was just chillin' for the rest of the weekend. I picked up DBK for friday evening and he supplied us with all the Mountain Dew we could drink (I still have 4-5 left in my fridge). Just before S'mores, a bat flew directly overhead at the exact moment that I raised my cup to toast the weekend. The next day, We took the boat off the trailer and headed for the beach. Not the best wind in the world, but such is to be expected on a small inland lake. Evening consisted of sitting around the campfire, going through the rest of the fifth of Jager that I brought. And playing around with some of the firewood that Marblez bought. It was bundled in such a fashion so that it had a fabric handle stapled to the top of it, on a piece that had been milled flat on one side. Kinda looks like a shield. I'm thinking of using a wood-burning pen to inscribe the DGN logo on it.
slingerlandstyx Posted June 12, 2006 Author Posted June 12, 2006 'Cuz it didn't work! Not for vampires anyway. Brandy still has a distinct mark on her...uh...neck. That's right, her neck! LOL
AstralCrux Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I was so relaxed I almost slipped into a coma. I can't deal with less than unbearable levels of stress or I'm totally out of it. Other than that new lesson- it was awesome. I feel bad for Styx since almost everyone bailed on him last minute. Way to stick the boy with extra costs.
DeadBurgerKing (10) Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Ahhhhhhh yes...the distint aroma of garlic filled the camp site...that'll teach them vampires to mess with the likes of us...mwahahaha!!! I must congratulate AC on not giving me food poisoning with those hamburgers that simmered for...jesus...an hour? I'm glad I got to meet Marblez... O and you better save me that peice of cake AC...or ill be very upset....

Spent all weekend in the convalescent hospital, wasent my best weekend, and was bummed that I couldent make the trip. Styx the offer still stands - send me a PM and let me know what I owe ya (or the three of ya). I apologize for creating an extra burdon. Steven

Glad you had such good weather and that things well pretty well. I bet it was a good time. I would have tried to be there if I didn't hate camping with a passion
Draco1958 Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 Now that I have a job, I hope to have time to save up some money if another one gets planned. Was gonna come out for the day but things didn't work out here for me to be able to come visit.

Draco1958 Posted June 15, 2006 Posted June 15, 2006 August may be rough for me. Might have a gathering for a costuming group I belong to plus Michigan Renaissance Festival starts on the 19th. I have a group of people that go in costume to that, not sure when they will want to go.
