<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wayne Sharrocks (UK Gothic author who writes dark psychological thrillers)

Charlaine Harris (Tongue-in-cheek Vampire novels)

Poppy Z Brite: Modern Light Vampire/Horror fiction)

Storm Constantine (UK Gothic author writes Fantasy/Fiction)

Kelley Armstrong ( Light Horror)

Your best bet is to log onto www.amazon.com website and type in the authors names then you can read extracts of their books/reviews/synopsis etc...

I don't know if you would quite consider her "gothic", but check out JEMIAH JEFFERSON. She is an amazing author who writes vampire novels. She has a triliogy out that is very similar to, but in my opinion blows Anne Rice away. The first book is called VOICE OF BLOOD, and it is the shit!!!! I have read it over and over. The other two are called WOUNDS and FIEND. You have to read Voice of blood first though. Do yourself a favor and get it NOW!!!

Another 2 not "gothic" per se, but if you like Storm Constantine you'll probably like Tanith Lee... she is obviously a big influence on Constantine. Angela Carter has that same Brit eroto-goth vibe, too... the awesome film "The Company of Wolves" is based on one (actually several) of her short stories.

If you're into manga, there's a shitload of Gothic-themed titles out there... I don't care for any of them, but "Midnight Opera", "Bizenghast", "Mark of the Succubus", and "Chibi Vampire" come to mind.

      About to head up to Roseville to return this rental and pick up my truck from the auto shop.  It is supposedly sporting a newly fabricated frame rail...I don't think they are referred to as "chassis" anymore as I see the confusion in shop owner's eyes when they ask me if I'm looking for "body work?".   But I do find it interesting that I told the owner that I worked direct with OEM parts and yet he still wrote me up an invoice with overpriced OEM parts from companies I used to host at the place I used to work for.  With that said, I'm expecting a stellar job for the amount I paid.   ...else, there will be some talk negotiations.

      ~~~~~ Definitely wishing you luck.  Do enjoy yourselves.   But I have to admit, the first thing that came to mind was does roadside assistance reach the desert? 😬
      ~~~~~ Yeah, it's like something happened to my metabolism this past Winter and when I came out of hibernation, that AARP Join Request started looking like something to check into.

      This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...
