If I were mayor I would take all the old mayor's money and give it to those who need it. And then I would destroy all abandoned buildings and make the homeless go to drug and alcohol rehad. Then have them reenter society to work in public schools. Those homeless orphans shall each go to foster parents no matter how old they are and learn properness. I would never be re-elected cuz my parents live in detroit and they would prolly start a rally against me cuz they wouldnt have anything to bitch about anymore.

Um. Lately DPS has been performing massive layoffs of teachers who AREN'T drug addicts. Not sure how that plan would work out.

I'd kick everyone out and then build a wall and dig a moat. Then we could film "Escape from Detroit" or something like that. It would help to fix the overcrowding prisons at least.

No seriously I'd raise taxes so high that all the poorer people would move out elsewhere and get homes in the burbs, or set up a ghetto low cost housing area.

Then I'd use the taxes and renovate/rebuild homes and sell them to rich blue blooded folks. There are still some nice old mansions down there, they've just turned into "bad areas". I'd also spend some of that money on a nice new car for myself (bulletproof because of the raised taxes you know) and maybe a body guard. Maybe be really progressive and set up a soylant green food center.

People are idiots though and the last thing I would want to do is run the city made up of idiots.

I'd build a progressive underground city with its own rules and laws :D The surface dwellers need not know we're there.

You'd need money to do that, money that the city most clearly doesn't have. And if you just GIVE homes to jobless drug addicts on the street, what kind of message does that send?
