Its a horrible name from a horrible woman. I still hope that she asks her dad if she can change her name.

I am named after a mispronouciation of my "actual name" my brother was 3 when I was born... and called me "Phee"

My older brother's name is Francois. Somewhere in his early years, a friend couldn't pronounce his name and butchered it into: FraFra. We didn't call him that for many years... but then I revived it. My daughter's call him Uncle FraFra... Or Friggy.

Or Friggy Poo. :laughing :laughing :laughing

Mine got warped to Merc when I was young. I think Francois couldn't pronounce it right for a while. I could see changing my name to just "Merc" No last name. :cool

I hate my name ... I fucking hate .. I always have and I always will. First off I hate Megan, (I'm sorry Mark no disrepect intended I know that is your daugthers name as well) Everyone always spells it Meghan .. which drives me crazy, and I dont just mean random ppl .. these are ppl that helped named me for god sake. The only one that doesnt spell it like that is my brother, because he is the only one in my family that is not insane, well he is .. but not like the rest of them. :doh Hence why I stick with the Meg ... YOU CAN'T FUCK MEG UP. or make me feel like shit because daddy doesnt know how to spell my name. ....

Which comes to the even worse part my middle name .. Jolene Parnell. Which just so happens to be the name of a woman I can't stand, the oh dreaded Megabeast (my evil bitch of a grandmother). Who somewhat undirectly rasied me with her crazy Jesus freak ways (once again no offense to anyone), cold, unemotional, distant teaching of disapline and respect. Lot of good it did her.

And aww yes the last name *****. I hate it too, its a consent reminder of what an asshole my father really was (if you could call him a father). He left me (and my brother) with nothing but a name, to never let us forget that daddy at least at one point love us enough to give us his last name .... :erm

I still have no idea as to what I'm going to name my son...... Its something that I think of everyday, because I know how much rage, anger and damage just a name can do. I don't want to push that burden on my son, I dont want him to look at his name and want to throw up. I thought naming was suppose to be the easy part .. and then I realized .. it is. Which means the rest of it is going to be crazy :whistling

Meghan... as one of your best friends in the entire world and one who knows you best, I think Meghan has to take care of Meghan for a while and address some anger issues

My parents said that the next runner up for names was Megan.

My Dad rejected it thinking kids would call me Maggot....

Yeah, Like Smelly, or Belly, or Jelly, was better...

Yeah... my name being Phillip brought on being called: Fuckheaded, ugly moron, and fuckwhit, and walrus with downsyndrome....

Then later in life, I would hear women murmer: "OMG I think it's moving towards us" even though I don't know how they knew my name.

It's funny how a name can cause that kind of thing...

Gotta agree with that one. Wisdom, a soothing & subtle color, a wise person, & a healing herb... also the whole range of associations with "sagebrush". Seems pretty auspicious to me! Plus it's short, sweet, & easy to remember.
