Is smoking allowed where you work?

:devil I was really surprised that they allowed smoking where I work,because its a plastics shop.most plastic mfg plants usually do not allow this.most other places I worked do not allow smoking at work except on breaks and lunch.

Yep. In the shop, in the trucks, in the warehouses.

... I hate it. I don't smoke, in fact I'm allergic ... it makes me sneeze a lot ... and I'm usually the one to have to clean up the mess.

Yeah, they allow smoking but anytime there's a fire they call the fire department. It doesn't really make sense.

I work in a mall.

You cant smoke in the mall.

However, on your 15 minute break or your half-hour lunch, you're more than welcome to go outside and either A: roast or B: freeze your butt off. =3

Our computer equipment smokes all the time...

We get breaks every 2 hours and can go out and smoke, just not next to the building... all the smokers scamper off to smoke next to a different building =)

I work at ABC warehouse and damn near all the salesman smoke so yea, its allowed.

They can smoke outside. That's it. I remember when I first started out in the salon industry. You could smoke anywhere you wanted.

Only outside on our breaks. Our last Co-Manager got in trouble for smoking in the stock room, cuz apparently the other store allowed it. Bullshit.

I'm technically not even supposed to be smoking when I'm in uniform off the clock, even if it's just my JJ hat. "It brings down the image of the franchise", words of the owner of the Jimmy John's I work at. I can when I'm on a delivery run though. Yeah for sweet smelling cloves!!! If I were to smoke anything else, I wouldn't be able to get away with it, my man-ager would smell it on me.

There are alot of jobs in which you can't do anything that might bring down the image of the company while in uniform. Smoking especially.

Yes, we have a seperate little breakroom for smokers. But we don't allow it on the floor.

As for thowing them on the floor. Just because someone is there to clean it doesn't mean that's right to do it. Maybe be curteous to the person and use a coffee can at least.
