Some reletive of mine claims that the MySpace is for perverts. Last week My a couple of reletives of mine had just gotten a computer and internet and they were talking about it. I tried to interduce the MySpace website by asking if he ever was on it and he said no because it is for people who were sick in the head, well he didn't use those exact words but said names that were used for sick and perverted people. Then he asked for my profile like he was going find it.

I understand how Myspace can be used for a tool to give sick people access to victims but that is for any chat room. It is not that he has ever been on the website he is using what he hears over the news or media. He also tried to persuade my mom what it was about to conspire to my mom to get me off the website.

Maybe he was just sharing his extremely valid opinion. I don't like Myspace either, for different reasons, as in I think it's lame.

Key words here are "particular service on the internet". Like any service it can be used for good or evil. There are a lot of perverts on it I'm sure but then there are a lot of people who just use it for social networking and self promotion (IE: its intended use).

People just villify it because it's the biggest thing. If it wasn't that it would be tribe.net or friendster, or yahoo 360, etc...

Aren't you a grown-up? How can your relatives get you off MySpace?

I don't particularly like MySpace, or most other chat rooms, instant messengers, blogging tools, etc, because I think they hinder people from interacting in the real, three dimensional world, and because it's so easy to misrepresent yourself.

But, like everyone else, I still use them, because sometimes it's the only way to keep in contact with people.

A. It is one thing to have a differing opinion like"It sucks" but this guy hasn't even been on there. He is just going by what he hears from other's.

B. His being sterotypical and judgemental. He accuses others, who uses it - like us or at least most of us, for using it for the wrong reason other then using it for what we should use it for.

C. He is trying to conspire to stopping me from getting on to it. (like I said before.)

Like I said, it's just a tool, and like any tool it can be missused for the wrong reasons. But that's no reason to throw away the tools.

It's not bad. like everything else on the internet, it can be used poorly. I'm using it to keep in touch with friends who I normally don't get to see often. Always open to friends and soon to be friends from here contacting me on My Space. It's as good or bad as how you use it.
