Apartment advice

Ok.. I'm most likely getting the job I interviewd for today! So... I need an apartment pronto. I'm looking to be in the Troy/Livonia/Redford/Southfield area. I can afford up to $600 a month, need a 1 bedroom, preferably with utilities included. It needs to be safe, clean, and cat friendly. Any advice or info would be most appreciated!
