Head Wreck Posted July 24, 2006 Author Posted July 24, 2006 on a note. cutlary crossed is a sighn that the guest is merely breathing for a while cutlary placed together is a sign you are finished as it makes less noise when the waiter removes your plate.
Paper Hearts Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 And never leave your chopsticks in your rice bowl because that means you thought the meal sucked.
BrassFusion Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 I am appalled and offended with some of the language and assertions that have been made in this thread... Chris, your wanton disregard and stereotype of those who wrap their cutlery up in cloth napkins is indicative of obvious racism and classism. And I know what you did last summer.
Brenda Starrr Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 She just called out her husband!!!! I am raising your warning level to akabillion %.... and I am going to tell Brenda <{POST_SNAPBACK}> :blink How do I get involved in these things?

And the best part of our discount system is that it's impossible for those of clean crockery to pose as unwashed masses to take advantage of the discount. My plan is flawless.

Hellion Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I think that cloth napkins are a must <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Paper towels and paper plates, nothing to clean. :devil
Homicidalheathen Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Do you conserve water or trees? That is the question. If you use plates...you gotta use soap and water.......or you can kill a tree. Either way your sqrewed. Well, the earth is.
kellygrrrrrl Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Use recycled paper plates!!!! never styrophome. If you can, don't use the dishwasher. Soak the stuff in soapy water, scrub them, and then rinse. conserves mroe than dishwashing. Shower less..... and flush every 2 uses...unless it's #2...... I have no shame. I just want to do my part as much as possible.
BrassFusion Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 I never understood the whole "conserving water" bit. It saves on your water bill, sure, but it's not like the water is disappearing from the ecosystem.
kellygrrrrrl Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 concerving water conserves how much energy as whole we use.....the water cleaning purification plant uses A LOT of energy.....the energy they use comes from the electrical plant....which uses fossil fuels.....which spews out co2 by the TONS per day. Little differences can make a difference if it is on city scale, state scale, worlwide scale.....
Head Wreck Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 there are alternatives to cleaner. i stoped using surface cleaner a while back. just sprinkle baking soda on top lightly, and fill the basin with hot water, add a little vinigar to the mix. and just use that to soak the tablecloth and rinse it. i find it works better also

kellygrrrrrl Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 That would be ideal...but it ain't happening fast enough..... in the meantime, the little things can make a diff.... gotta bump heads w/ Brazil on that one....
BrassFusion Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 Not sure what Brazil has to do with us developing our alternative energy technology. Which we have...
Head Wreck Posted July 26, 2006 Author Posted July 26, 2006 ethanol. IE biogas. this still creates greenhouse gasses however. solar tidal and wind i say. geothermal power stations, home water heating solar pannels to take burden of home boiler, leccy boilers, wind farms, getting rid of wastefull central air home heating (nice as it is its just so damn innefficient in the long run). this is what i did my collage dissertation in and i have been tempted to get a BSc in the field on part time study
