Anathema Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 There has been some debate to this movie between my husband and I. Am I the only person that can see some of the similarities between this movie and some of the creatures/idea concepts from H.P. Lovecraft's stories?
Joey Deadcat Posted July 26, 2006 Posted July 26, 2006 The film is an adaptation of the Hellboy comics(actually, the first series, Seeds of Destruction) written and drawn by Mike Mignola. Lovecraftian fiction is one of the many influences (as well as pulp adventures, mythology & folklore, and Jack Kirby) Mignola uses in the different Hellboy stories. It was intentional that those elements figured into the film.
