I liked the VU much better when I was like 17. I'm not really into them any more...but I still kind of like the essence of VU. lol

I saw Lou Reed play once because Luna was opening with him.

I guess Nico...was Nico. I don't hate her, but, yeah, maybe they'd have been a better rock entity w/out her.

Nico's voice makes me nauseous; however I do very much appreciate the work of the Velvet Underground in which she is not involved.

I don't think many people here know of VU or who Lou Reed, Mo Tucker, or John Cale are. Me personally, I've always found most of their material kinda...boring. Though, I do dig some of Nico's solo stuff(even though she was an awful human being).

i kind of liked them but i think it's because my parents listened to them. if you hear something that many times it kind of get ingrained in your head

ditto - though i don't know if i was exactly 17, but i was younger for sure

no ditto on the lou reed, never saw him

ditto - nico was nico. i didn't care either way for her. she was just there. didn't bother me but i didn't love her singing either.

over all i am surprised i like/liked velvet underground. really not something i would normally like. i know for sure i would not like anything else that SOUNDED like them. i just happened to like THEM.
