"CNET is reporting that IE7 will be pushed to users via Windows Update. This has serious implications for e-commerce websites whose functionality might be affected by any bugs in the software. Also to have end users suddenly using a new browser right before the holiday shopping season could magnify the cost any bugs that might create a bad user experience on sites."

Now if you pay attention when its pushed you will have the choice to install or not install. Too bad I know far to many users who will not be paying attention. Their reasoning will be "Its from Microsoft its safe to install." And then will complain that their shite don't work no more and expect me to help them fix it.

Yeah, I've totally disabled windowsupdate. My system is finally stable; I'm not going to let Microsoft muck it up whenever they feel like it.

It's their operating system, you should really at least do the security updates.

EDIT: unless you actually go download them off the site and install them manually, which I doubt you do.

I'm old-skool. I grew up with Windows 3.1 and then Windows 95. I'm used to the hassle of updating Microsoft products. :nut

I let Windows Update tell me there's something new to think about. I decide when or if it get's to install the update.

I read about the IE7 thing the other day. No thanks.

      ~~~~~ Wow.  I hope that works out for you.  Will you be moving your ranch there?
      I'm thinking I'm going to be moving to AZ, soon! Can't wait! I friggin' love it here! The heat doesn't bother me at all and the best part? NO SNOW!!! (S.N.O.W. - Shit  No One Wants)   Been staying in Bullhead City where the kids and grandkids live. Next, we're going to the wife's cousin's which is a ways North of Kingman, in the middle of nowhere, where we actually plan to move.   I really like Bullhead. It's a nice little town. Not overcrowded like Colorado Springs has become, at all. Very light traffic, reasonable prices on everything, low taxes, etc. The river offers a lot to do, with a lot of beaches and campgrounds all around it.   But yeah even though we've been over 110º-115º F just about every day,  I can handle it!  What I can't handle anymore, is snow and being cold. Just tired of it. Give me the desert over a blizzard any day!
      Nope, we wasn't doing anything. I didn't want to go by myself.  I ended up doing karaoke here. It would of been a perfect day to go, though.
