MarsDustDoug Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 YEs, this saturday Unknown Hinson returns to detroit to rock it like only The Hinson can This man is freakin GREAT on guitar and he looks as if Dracula, Reverand Horton Heat, and Elvis had a child he is preforming at KC's Dive in Dearborn on Greenfield almost smack in between Ford and Michigan Ave. 10pm I HIGHLY recommend this show. The tunes on his myspace give a bit of insight but he rocks out much more and doesnt really do any of his slow stuff live. www.myspace.com/UnknownHinson Listen to the song Silver Platter and you will get an idea of what his live show is more like. Really upbeat and pretty freakin rockin.
Joey Deadcat Posted August 2, 2006 Posted August 2, 2006 Ralph and Tex are gonna be kicking themselves for missing this as they both gotta play Small's that night.

MarsDustDoug Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 gads!! i thought this said, "the hansons", and all i could think was "mmm-bop!" :doh :doh :doh :doh <{POST_SNAPBACK}> haha I had a feeling someone might think that. The show was god damn down right amazing. He is probably one of the greatest guitarist I have ever seen live (and this was the second time I have seen him) in a very long time. He not only did his typical style of rockabilly and country/western (we are talkin songs like "I cant believe your pregnant...again" and "You sure do some ugly things for being such a pretty girl") He covered Alice Cooper and three Jimi Hendrix songs... and freakin astoundingly. Hinson doesnt just cover a song... he makes it his own. Jimi and Alice would be BEYOND proud of what he has done with their music. When he comes back around again I not only recommend going to see him, I place faith in that ANYONE who has love and knowledge of guitar playing to go see this man preform.
Joey Deadcat Posted August 8, 2006 Posted August 8, 2006 Yeah, it was another great gig by The Hinson himself! Thanks for the Killian's, Doug! Thought more folks we know would've been there though they may have been at Small's. Tough call for a lot of folks that night!
