Paper Hearts Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 It was the Proffesor Plum, in the conservatory, with the lead pipe.
Anathema Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 It was the Proffesor Plum, in the conservatory, with the lead pipe. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> man, you beat me to it! i was going to leave a funny comment...sighing
BrassFusion Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 man, you beat me to it! i was going to leave a funny comment...sighing <{POST_SNAPBACK}> i'm glad some people left witty comments before I could leave one peppered with obscenities. God damn how I hate promoters. ...oops...
torn asunder Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 hey, now - it's in it's proper place, *the first time*, and not in every forum but... give this person some credit, huh!? and honestly, i think something like this might be fun, if somebody else would pay for it for me...
BrassFusion Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 hey, now - it's in it's proper place, *the first time*, and not in every forum but... give this person some credit, huh!? and honestly, i think something like this might be fun, if somebody else would pay for it for me... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> coulda sworn it was in events earlier today, but i guess i was mistaken because it doesn't have a track there. still... what kind of lamewad joins a forum JUST to promote one event, without intent to use the forum for anything else? and i heard murder mystery dinners are teh gay. =( i mean, it could be fun in principle, but in practice, with a banquet hall with 100+ people in it... how cool could it be?
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I dunno, it sounds like its for a good cause. I'm not sure I'm interested, but I don't understand why you would slam it.
BrassFusion Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 I dunno, it sounds like its for a good cause. I'm not sure I'm interested, but I don't understand why you would slam it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Because the announcement is impersonal and it contains a few instances of shitty grammar. I'd try a little bit harder if I was promoting a literacy group fundraiser.
torn asunder Posted August 4, 2006 Posted August 4, 2006 Because the announcement is impersonal and it contains a few instances of shitty grammar. I'd try a little bit harder if I was promoting a literacy group fundraiser. :woot: :laughing :fear :whistling
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I dunno, man. I thought this site was about community. It seems you're being more than a bit cliquish. I wonder sometimes who some of you think you are... Especially those who don't even have a fucking clue about the scene.
Steven Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 uh oh....shitty grammer and not having a clue about the scene..... ....are you two bitches talking about me again????
BrassFusion Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I don't think it's cliquish to expect people to *want* to be involved in "the scene" or even just the forum if they want to use it to promote shit.
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Whats wrong with that? Jinx and Chris Rohn use this forum just to promote. I don't see anyone jumping on them. Why should this new person be any different?
Rayne Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Whats wrong with that? Jinx and Chris Rohn use this forum just to promote. I don't see anyone jumping on them. Why should this new person be any different? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's in General Advertising ... I see nothing wrong with it. Jinx will sometimes jump into conversations other than promoting ... especially music related ones ... I've never seen Chris Rohn do that, but his promotions are always in the right spots. This person posted something in the right spot. While I do see Brassfusion's point of shitty grammar while promoting a literacy event ... I still don't see anything wrong with it being posted.
BrassFusion Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I don't remember suggesting that the post be removed and the poster be banned and burned in effigy. It's just lame, is all.
Msterbeau Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I think the difference between this and the DJ's is that this is a one-time spam and run, where those guys are regulars and what they post about is reasonably directly connected to the scene.
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 Dude, its a non-profit. Leave it alone. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/501%28c%29%283%29
BrassFusion Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 When did you turn into the big mediator? Or moderator, for that matter. You can talk sweet neutrality and acceptance all you want, but you're contributing to this threadjack as much as I am. Also, the announcement says that the Detroit Literary Events Group is donating a portion of the ticket sales to a non-profit (Pro Literacy Detroit), not that they ARE non-profit themselves. They may or may not be; the post is poorly worded and ambiguous (ironically). I'm sure they're taking a cut regardless of their status as an organization. I hope they spend it on a computer with spellcheck.
Steven Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 man, you guys are good entertainment. Advantage, Brassfusion.....
Guest Game of Chance Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I concede...you win...I don't have time for you. I'm off to go eat right and work out. Know anything about that?
BrassFusion Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 I concede...you win...I don't have time for you. I'm off to go eat right and work out. Know anything about that? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yeah. That's why I've dropped 4 dress sizes (and counting) since I joined my gym. The trainer who ran the orientation I was in said I have good form. Working out is fun
Rayne Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 When did you turn into the big mediator? Or moderator, for that matter. You can talk sweet neutrality and acceptance all you want, but you're contributing to this threadjack as much as I am. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Even former moderator's tend to want to keep peace. I know this because I moderated AOL's Family forums for 5, almost 6 years ... and your realatively new, so you have no idea that Game of Splat used to moderate on DGN. Nah, it's not worth it. I'll stop here.
torn asunder Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Nah, it's not worth it. I'll stop here. yes, let's all stop here...
