Hellion Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 :devil How many of you have taken the extra soaps shampoos, towels, and other things from hotels and motels you stayed at in the past. I still have the ashtray from the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas from 6 years ago when I went out there. Share your list of things you took, alot of people do this all the time.
dr mojo Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 all the time! we needed something to sit on at DEMF so we took a sheet from our room to use.

And that's why she's going to hell.
Homicidalheathen Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I accidently took a towel a week ago. I used it by the pool and forgot I had put it in my bag. But they are white, pilly and hard so I don't take them unless its on accident....and I am too picky about what soap I use so I don't take anything really. I figure its included in the cost......they probably assume you will take something.
Aralis Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 I take the soaps...shampoos and lotions. I have a collection of them. They are good for when you travel and or as a backup.
BrassFusion Posted August 6, 2006 Posted August 6, 2006 When you check out and they clean the room for the last time before someone new checks in, wouldn't they throw away the unused shampoo bottles anyway? You never know if someone could've opened them and tampered with it in some way. I've never worked in a hotel so I don't know if some chains have a policy about that. Seems likely...
AstralCrux Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Most have tamper evident seals so that the housekeeping staff can tell if they need to be replaced. But, yeah take the shampoo/lotion/soap, but they will charge you or ban you for stealing towels and the bigger stuff. All hotels ask is that you don't get too noisy, if you have kids don't let them run around by themselves, and don't call the desk 50 million times for stupid stuff. The desk staff fields enough calls and they generally will talk with you if you come to the desk, but they can't just "chat" on the phone because they get so many calls.
Gothmama25 Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 The only things I ever took from a hotel was shampoo, towels, a pillow(disney world resorts have the best pillows), and a phonebook
Paper Hearts Posted August 7, 2006 Posted August 7, 2006 Rice paper pages from the King James' in the night-stand make wonderful cigarette wrappers.
