Yeah... as long as they're for crash data that:

A. The manufacturers use to improve safety and:

B. For police to use in determining what happened.

Everyone else can piss off.

To read them in real time all you need is a transmitter. Like on race cars. It's no-brainer technology.

On the other hand, it's not mandatory... and you can always disconnect sensors. :whistling
