I am leary of letting a beginner pierce me but good luck anyway and welcome and thanks for being honest about your experience. You might find someone on here eventually. Personally I only do small temporary gage piercings for fun only....but have considered a marilyn Monroe.

I think I want a nose piercing. Just a little tiny barely visible stud until it heals so I can switch it out with a ring.

all standard nose piercings are pierced with a ring... for better cleaning, less chance of it falling out... and it wont it hooked on stuff.

we can piercine it with a stud... but i would suggest that since you want a ring... you get it pierced with one... send me a pm and tell me more

I agree with her. I have a nose piercing. I was pierced with a stud ... OMG, did it hurt ... but anyway, it takes me forever to get a ring in because no matter how you buy it the guage is always different ... then after you take the ring out and put the back in, it falls out for a day or two. Sucks in your sleep because it can't be out for more than 15 minutes at the max, or so before the hole will start to close and cause you even more pain getting it back in.

Mine's a pain in the ass, but I think it's cute too.

My tongue is far less work and wasn't even painful when pierced.

I didn't specifically want a ring any more than I want a stud, I just like variety. So if I were to get a nose piercing, I should get something I'd want to leave in pretty much all the time? I am a teacher, at any rate... and the kids in my new school have a pretty strict (ridiculous) dress code, so I'd almost have to go with a really tiny stud.

Mine was pierced with a needle and a spiral stud was put into it. Didn't hurt at all, wasn't a pain to clean, and so on. Here in MD, you don't have to have it done with a specific type of jewelry. The hoop does lessen the chance of falling out, though.
