I agree with that...

I also agree it is easier said than done....

I don't really know how to feel about myself.

right now at this point in my life, I am mad at myself for a lot of reasons...

like 2 weeks ago.

I had this big eye opening expirience that made me see how much of an asshole I am.

And boy, I am an ASSHOLE.

So right now, yes....I am a little mad at me.

How that affects others?

it does.

or rather how I percieve to affect others anyway.

Eight years ago, my self esteem was so low that I couldn't possibly have loved myself. Now, I love me lots. I fucking rock, even if others don't agree. So, screw them.

I <3 me.

wrong author, same perception, same conclusion on my part however (respectfully suggested) that self worship ultimately is the path of self defeat.

Not even the slightest bit. You have absolutely no idea how uneducated you sound in the above post.

I kind of follow that

Did you ever make sweet love with Ayn Rand, or was she actually a lesbian?

I believe in Karma.

It's probably the only non-tangible thing I believe in, but I've seen numerous examples.

lol. No, her writing style was always a bit dry for my taste.

Just stating a fact. I feel that people should be educated in an area before spouting bullshit based on their preconceived notions.

If there was an iota of factual evidence presented in the post that I was in disagreeance with, I would have simply countered.

no actually I have a pretty good perception of it. I've even made a few posts stating exactly that. Seems to bother other people more than it does me though, and like I said before - it was not intended as a slam.

and Steve really, arent all of our notions pre-conceived? Your point of veiw by the way, is pre-conceived.

Love at will. Love is the Law. Do what thou wilt. I have read these thigns before, heard them used before by certain kinds of people, but allow me your insight. maybe your right and I'm just a dumb ass. Or....maybe I simply disagree. I'm a fan of practical application, so would you mind using some of your own life examples? I tend to latch on to those types of ideas much easier than I do a studied approach.

Your notions were identified as being pre-conceived by the obvious fact (due to your aforementioned faux pas) that you've never read any Crowley. I doubt you've read LaVey. For that matter, I'm starting to believe you've never read any Foucalt, or Wilde, or Levi, or Lao Tse, or Muhammed.

Because of your lack of education in these areas, it seems more than a bit naive to comment at all, let alone berate these philosophies.

Have you ever read any book other than the bible or its commentaries?

I'd be happy to give you success stories, but I don't discuss with the uninitiated. My life speaks for itself.

If this is the way your life philosophy tells you to act, your life philosophy blows. And honestly? I read the link you put up and it sounded good to me. Maybe it needs a clause about treating others as you would be treated, or some similar second grade wisdom.'

Then it would be perfect.

No way, its a matter of frustration. You get to a point where you grow tired of the uneducated.

I'm not a master, nor do I claim to be. lol, certainly do not follow me. :)

However, the slave-gods and their followers need to be put in their place once in a while.

I thought every man and woman was a God. I mean, if that were true, it would be moot to try to put anyone else "in his or her place." Unless you're so insecure that you feel you need to. Whatever. Do as thou wilt.

Every man and every woman is a star. Innately. That doesn't necessarily mean that everyone has awakened that star. Read further, "the slaves shall serve"

Its not a matter of insecurity, feel free to post whatever christian propaganda that you feel appropriate. I think its obvious from the world around us, that christianity is dying. There's a reason for that. Science.

Btw...It is specifically, "Do what thou wilt" not "do as thou wilt".

Personally, I think that's the problem with all modern religious philosophy. Not only do you have centuries of stories being twisted about, you have middlemen who paraphase them for you.

Posted

Uh... that's why I think it's a good thing to not take religious dogma seriously. You know, the whole agnostic thing. Paraphrasing is still good. In fact, since I never actually addressed the topic of this thread, personally...

I strongly believe in paraphrasing.

I feel that any religious dogma is evil of the greatest kind.

I disagree with you on paraphrasing. Any spiritual message in any of the largest "faiths" in existence was mostly lost on the masses due to paraphrasing. Not to mention priest and rabbis. Why would anyone need a middleman to have a relationship with "God"?
