Holliwood and I spent a week hiking in canada

Just wanted to brag on how much fun it was... though it was pretty difficult and extremely dangerous since there are no guard rails etc and there is a 140 meter drop off along most of the trail <smile>

I might post pix that we took... if I ever get around to it... thouh since we did not have a waterproof camera there are no pix of the grotto (cave on the shore) or of me struggling to swim after climbing all day long...

If you get the chance, I know I'd love to see the pics!!!

Welcome back!

Damn. Still alive. I thought for sure if I sent free tickets there, I would be rid of you forever.

*Sigh* Back to the drawing board....

Vacations DEFINATELY rule. I just spent a few days in Fairbanks, AK. Not a very exciting place, but I got to spend a lot of time in less city-ish mountains, with rustic folks who don't have running water in their cabins, and we went to a natural hot spring for a day.

The best part though was the drive back to Anchorage. It was all rainy and misty. Nothing like ten hours of driving through scenery that reminds you of Irish castles.

Nature is cool.

Alaska is great for people who like to hike and camp.

I'm not one of those people, but I manage to make it work.

The best time of year to come is May, because the sunlights lasts twenty hours or so, depending on how far north you go.

This 👆 definitely goes with what I said in my other post - getting old sucks. Seems like *everything* takes longer and takes more energy out of me than it used to. Really need to work on my diet and exercise, I've found the older I get, the more important those things have really become...

Well we were supposed to leave last night, but life has a way of making plans for you. I'm about to get up and get ready to go on our vacation. Had and still have a lot to do.  Not easy to just up and leave a ranch with a lot of animals and things that need taken care of. We even have people here to watch and tend things while we're gone, but still.   I had to change the radiator in my car before we leave - got that done last night. Took a lot more out of me than I thought it would, so by the time I finished I had little energy for anything else. Today I just have a couple more quick things to do on the car, like cleaning it and packing stuff. Couple of minor things to do around the ranch today, as well.   I figure we should be on the road this evening sometime. I'm looking forward to it. We're going to see the wife's side of the family, people I actually like,  in Vegas and AZ. Should only be gone for a few days, maybe a week. Going to the Grand Canyon and Lake Mead and all kinds of stuff in between, so I'm pretty stoked. I LOVE the Southwest.   Wish me luck that my car survives the desert! (Hence new radiator) 🤠👍

Sometimes sleep can be a scary thing.  I passed out so hard at 4:54pm today.  Yesterday wiped me out with rentals, appointments and helping a lost dog get back home.  Fortunately, I found him on Facebook and contacted the owners and he was picked up before nightfall.  But I think I totally overdid it and paid for it today in the middle of handling business.  Thankfully it was some work at home stuff.   I definitely do not like being that kind of tired.  It's like the World could end and I'd wake up afterwards trying to find out what happened.
