Fierce Critter Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 So, I finally treated myself to a $9.59 bottle of this stuff today, after being told by several DGN'ers that it would break through my hatred of all things beer. Yes, it's tasty as hell. No, it doesn't taste like beer. But no, I don't need to spend the money again. What I like about it: It's got that fruity taste I like. It's "different". It doesn't have the skunk taste that Woodchuck Raspberry has. It comes in a nice, gothy red shade. What I don't like about it: Cost. The fact that I'm basically drinking beer that doesn't taste anything like beer, so why bother? I still hate beer.

Save yourself a few bucks and buy that instead. St. Julian makes a screamin' good one.
ManicQueen Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 I've never heard of this stuff. Where can I find it at?
Homicidalheathen Posted August 30, 2006 Posted August 30, 2006 eH, Just give me the beer. I don't want no fruity girly tasting shit. The bitter German warm stuff is even starting to appeal to me.
Fierce Critter Posted August 30, 2006 Author Posted August 30, 2006 I've never heard of this stuff. Where can I find it at? I found mine at Mac's in Wyandotte. I think Mac's is a chain, so switchboard.com might find one in your area. Merchant on Michigan Ave in Dearborn probably carries it. It comes in other flavors, including peach and cherry. But Hipster hit the nail on the head. It tastes like raspberry champagne. Which is, more than likely, cheaper, and I will try sometime. I think it was Holliwood or BPage on here who recommended it to me. Good recommendation, but I can find cheaper alternatives. It didn't make me like beer. At all. I still hate beer. The bottle I bought cost $9.59, and measures 750 ML. It's by Lindemans. Have I mentioned I hate beer?
JaneDead Posted August 31, 2006 Posted August 31, 2006 i used to drink this stuff when i would go to cadieux cafe. come to think of it , that is the only place i think i ever drank it. it has been a long time but i used to love that stuff. it was expensive but i got it for free which is why i drank it there.
Anathema Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 it is actually the only beer i really actually like. other beers...not so good. they have a number of flavors too!
mallochai Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 One of my favorite things to drink... take a tall chill glass, fill it halfway with Guiness, then float lambic on top of it, filling the glass. YUMMM.......
cptdeath Posted September 8, 2006 Posted September 8, 2006 i heard of a drink called black velvet it's guiness an champaign 1/2. never tried it. never heard of what ever this thread is about lam somthing. as a conesuer of alchahol i'm shocked and at a personel loss for words. i would like to recommend a great little liquor store on schoolcraft and middlebelt. it's the third largest selection in the state and they operate on a non profit basis. also i would like to recommend a ten dollar bottle of white marlot. regular marlot is dark red most would scoff at the thought of a white marlot but to me it's great. at a party it will disapear first. not only is the flavor suttle it's actually refreshing. it's drinkability is very high. it's almost like drinking cool aid, i would say it's scarry cause it's a bit to easy to drink. goes great with a couple muscle relaxers and a hot tub. i will make a small personell quest to get smashed on that lam whatever. their is vertually no-one that i know who has sampled as many kinds of alchohal who has studied with a passion the history of the spirits. from the grey goose an patron of the clubs to the finest scothes to the dark smoking green absinths of the secret societies ,the chartruse, to the bon fires in the wood with the youkon jack in the snow, to the quarter beers at club canton to the keg of guiness last week to the keg of bud ice tonight . the jungle juice the open bars at the weddings. yeah it's been a decent summer. gin an voult is amazing. i hate brandy an tequila. i grew out of captian morgan long ago and i'll avoid costillo. the irish car bombs, yess beerfest was a life changing movie. everyone that saw it lost a couple days like jet lag or a time zone thing or something. they all thought friday was yesterday.
Gauge Posted September 17, 2006 Posted September 17, 2006 god that stuff is dangerous, i completely forgot about it till now. i could drink gallons of this stuff
