FarrIL Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Last night, after a nice hot shower, I finally gauged my ear down to a 2g. It snarks..... but after previous (( failed )) attempts to keep the larger gauge in, let's see how long it takes the annoying feeling to get the better of me and I remove it, going back to a 4g. So, anywho, who here has a piercing gauged out beyond "standard"? All of my piercings are from standard sizes and above..... Left Ear: 5 piercings (( 2 cartilage, 1 border-cartilage, border-conch, 2 lobe )) Top cartilage ----- 10g 2nd Cartilage ----- 14g Borderline ----- 14g Lobe 1 ----- 4g Lobe 2 ----- 2g Right Ear: 3 piercings (( 1 cartilage, 2 lobe )) Cartilage ----- Pierced AT a 10g Lobe 1: ----- 8g Lobe 2 ----- 4g So, I'm just curious. <<;
Anathema Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 i went from a 8g to a 0g in one foul swoop in my ears. it really wasn't to bad. i just hate slowly gaging up i prefer the quick and painful over the slow and painless what can i say.
kellygrrrrrl Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I have 4's in both ears. thats it! probably won't go any bigger.....I had 2's, but they get stinky faster than the 4's. .....I have to swab em' everyday to avoid my head from smelling like feet.....
Homicidalheathen Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 They get stinky and swell? Interesting.
Brenda Starrr Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 i went from a 8g to a 0g in one foul swoop in my ears. One "foul" swoop? Does that mean that it was rotten or did it smell like chicken? I'm at a 4. I used to have 00g, but my ears kept cracking. That was not cool. And you should ALWAYS take your time with gauging up. You can get keloids if you're not careful. Those have to be sugically removed, and that's not just a skin issue for African-Americans, either.
Anathema Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 One "foul" swoop? Does that mean that it was rotten or did it smell like chicken? lol. neither.
FarrIL Posted September 2, 2006 Author Posted September 2, 2006 But Keloids can also be taken care of with H2Ocean. Not just surgically removed. I've had experience with one and it was gone within a month from using the H2Ocean spray. Works nicely. And yeah, HH: Gauging one's ears, they eventually start wreaking of ickyness. Mine started smelling after I reached an 8gauge. I expect the 2 is going to start wreaking too. ;o;

I'll have to ask Johnny Love about that one! Still, you don't want them.

"If you run into any sort of trouble like irritation or what not, I suggest you invest in a bottle of this stuff right here. It works WONDERS on piercings."

FarrIL Posted September 3, 2006 Author Posted September 3, 2006 once i gaged mine up i started taking them out every morning and cleaning them Yeah, well, I'm a wee lazy as far as cleaning one's gauges goes. I know it's a healthy habit I need to get into. ;o;
Anathema Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 Yeah, well, I'm a wee lazy as far as cleaning one's gauges goes. I know it's a healthy habit I need to get into. ;o; most people i have found don't as often as i do.. shrugging. i worked in a piercing shop for awhile so i get pretty anal about cleaning my piercings especially ones that have been gaged. it really is a good habit and helps avoid alot of difficulties.
FarrIL Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 Too bad I dont think I could've avoided one of those difficulties. I took the 2g out and put the 4g back in. My ear started to bleed.......... it's tender at the moment. =(
sister ray Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I stretched my conch to a 4g last Friday and it was a horrible idea. The 6g barbell went back in on Sunday.

I thought I was the only one that had this problem. I thought I was like not doing something right and they were getting infected.
Gauge Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 the stink is largely caused from o rings. so if you can get away with not having them it helps. and i have my ears at a 4 right now but i might go a little bigger
Brenda Starrr Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 The stink happens even without the o-rings.
FarrIL Posted September 5, 2006 Author Posted September 5, 2006 The stink happens even without the o-rings. Yep, I vouch for that.
Aralis Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I have a 10 and 2 Gauge in my right ear. A 14 in my left. I have been wanting to get my 2 to a 0. I have several plugs I have been dying to wear but can't seem to get it stretched to a 0 to get them in. Its being really difficult. My last attempt will involve petroleum jelly. I have never had a problem before stretching and getting larger plugs in.
mallochai Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 I didn't know what a keloid was, so I looked it up. After seeing a lot about piercings, I found this picture. This one's not ear related. (brace yourselves) yikes.
Vampyro Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Dear god... After hearing about peircings and gauging smelling like chicken and feet, and the lovely display of pictures... I don't think I'll be getting any peircings anytime soon... Wow...
Homicidalheathen Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Yikes. I am having second thoughts about the bar I want in the top of my ear now.
mallochai Posted October 2, 2006 Posted October 2, 2006 Muwahahaha.... I guess it should be noted that not everyone gets keloids, which should be obvious considering the amount of people who don't have them. But still... the possibilites are pretty scary, if you're not into that whole scarification/growth look. I think it's also important to point out that whatever you had on your ear, Farril, was probably not a keloid, but more likely a boil or something related. Everything with any kind of doctorial information has indicated that they cannot simply be "washed away," no matter the solution you use. You should be thankful that you were able to cure whatever you had. *after reading and listening to H2Ocean testimonials... I'm still not sure. They say it can cure keloids when they are ~starting to form.~ This, I could perhaps buy. I doubt though, that you would be able to apply it to an old Keloid that wasn't fresh scar tissue, and have it do any good. I dunno, I'm not a doctor. I'd be skeptical about what it can really do though. It's a healing agent, an antibacterial with sea salt enzymes - scar tissue is tough stuff.
