I was just wondering if anyone knew of stores that sell gothic clothing besides Hot Topic. I can't buy online due to the fact that I don't have a credit card or a checking account.

I've found some really great stuff on gothicauctions.com and Ebay. Thrift stores are great as well. Just keep an open mind. Are you good at sewing and alterations? There's another option for you as well.

Don't rule out online shops completely; a lot of them will accept money orders.

Azrael's accomplice http://www.azacdesign.com/ and goodgoth.com are two that I know of off the top of my head, but there are many more. Just go to the FAQ on the store's page and see what payment methods are accepted. A lot of ebay sellers accept money orders as well.

If you're near royal oak there is Noir leather at 124 W. Fourth St. But you really don't need to go to a goth/fetish store to find goth-friendly clothing. Keep your eyes open at "regular" stores- you never know what you will find with a little imagination. One of my favorite club outfits is from Kohl's. A plain black skirt and tank top becomes gothy with fishnets and the right makeup. Check out the alt.gothic.fashion faq http://www.ravenmoon.us/agf/ for ideas and tips.

i do a LOT of shopping at charlotte russe and forever 21-- good accessorizing and possibly some alterations can give u limitles possibilites =) (not to mention those are very reasonably priced stores, as opposed to noir and hot topic, etc)

thrift stores are good for the occational nice find. it you want nice some nice stuff that nto everyone is wearing when your out at the club goto Noir. it's a but on the expencive side but it's all nice stuff. sometimes Incognito (in royal oak) is good for stuff too. i don't know if it is still around anymore but The Cat's Meow in Ann Arbor is nice too. i've gotten some great things there in the past. There is also Showtime Clothing in Detroit.

Where is Noir located?

Actually, there are a lot of mainstream stores carrying stuff with goth touches right now. I've seen it in everywhere from cheap stores like Charlotte Russe or Deb to upscale stores like Macy's and Nordstrom's. If you're full-figured I noticed the Lane Bryant at Sommerset had some pretty gothy stuff in the window. They actually had a top I liked, damn it.

And Noir is in Royal Oak off of Main St and either 3rd or 4th.

Is there still a Cat's Meow in Ann Arbor? The one that used to be on State street above Mr. Greek's has been closed for years.

Additionally, I noticed some websites listed above in a previous post and thought I would recommend http://www.shadowfae.com and http://www.blackrayne.com, both sites do custom work and don't charge extra for larger sizes. http://www.arsenicfashions.com has some beautiful items, as well, but I think they charge extra for plus sizes.

Its great to know this information because I have been having a hard time finding a site or store that sells plus size gothic attire. I have found a couple of sites, but they dont have anything larger than a large.

Thanks for the info!

when i worked at noir and other such stores if we didn;t have something in a particular size that someone wanted it could most of the time be order it if the person asked. so don't ever be afraid to ask if they can order it for you if it's something that you like

We really should collect this stuff and make a sticky post or ill just add a page to the site. The question(s) come up very often.

Unless they sit on the order for over three months and the item becomes discontinued so you have to scour the world for it and eventually track it down in the UK and pay a bundle for shipping.

You can buy Visa/Mastercard/Etc... cards at CVS and load them and use them for online shopping. Some are specifically labelled for such as well. You just recharge them with whatever amount.

I'm in the same boat and this is the option I've been looking into myself.

You're most welcome!

http://www.wysteria.co.uk/ is another great website specializing in larger sizes.
